Hot Flashes

Anybody else get them?
I am going to be 41 in May and too young for this stuff. LOL My TOM has been good but started having hot flashes last week. They don't last long but are annoying.
Hair loss and hot flashes. THIS IS FUN!
But I am now officiallly 30 lbs lighter and will suck it up for the next 16 lbs!:^:

Yes. I get them. Usually right after I eat my protein. It's like the fire burns hot for a bit right after I eat.

But then I have very cold times too. Sleep with socks on now, and never ever did in my life.

Hey Leanne! My flashes just happen whenever! But I hear ya about the cold thing too! Grrr

I've had a few I can't blame on food. But then, I figured I was just getting old... I have a lot of health issues that could bring on early menopause (I'm only 38). It's usually around my TOM though. During TOM I'll wake up with hot flashes at night. But my feet never get hot! lol

Hot Flashes

I have been in per-menopause for two years. I was taking herbal vitamins to help with the hot flashes and it helped, however, since been on IP I haven't had to take the vitamins and my hot flashes have are not as bad. So I think being in Ketosis and eating completely different is the reason why.
:D I have been on IP since Feb 1st.

I'm 62 & had entered menopause about 11 years ago. I hadn't had a hot flash in approx 10 years. But I started experiencing mild hot flashes again while on this diet. Not really serious ones - but noticeable little 'mini heat waves'. Thank goodness I haven't had any in a few months.

Well, I hadn't had TOM since July, then, 2 weeks into IP I wake up with a serious flow!! And hot flashes galore! So now I get TOM and hot flashes, great! I read something about how estrogen is stored in fat cells, so since we're shedding those "old cells" the natural process is allowed to occur. So, I'm seeing it as part of the process and my body restoring itself to health after all the abuse I put it through. And, as always, IT"S TEMPORARY!!!
Hey, down 17lbs in one month, I'm at peace with it....Glad I'm not alone though...hugs my lady peeps....

ITA newday. In the overall scheme of things, I'm so very happy to be 60 lbs lighter. Having a few hot flashes along the way was a very small price to pay!

Which is also what I answer the nah sayers about the "bad" ingredients in IP food...have you read the ingredients on the box of a frozen pizza...exactly, shuts them up quick, lol!!!:dizzy:

I have had Hot Flashes (BAD ones too) for almost 6-8 years while the doctors thought I was going through per-menopause. That was the only thing they could figure out (started at age 28)

FINALLY on IP I don't have them anymore! I am actually cold all the time!

Good luck! Hot Flashes are not fun, but I almost wish I had mine back from time to time because of how cold I get!

I am glad to see this thread about hot flashes. I have been on a very low dose of estrogen for over a year which has made my hot flashes more manageable but noticed I was having them more over the past two weeks. I never gave it a second thought about it being the protein.

Our coaches also teach us that estrogen is stored in our fat so as we rapidly burn the fat for fuel, we release this estrogen, which adds to the problem. In addition, as the body acclimates to Ketosis, that can cause hot flashes (did for me for about 6-8 weeks)

So this too shall pass?
