What is a Novi Cleanse?
 

I have seen it on here a few times and I am on my 6th week and my coach has never mentioned it. Why is it done and am I suppose to be doing it.

Weigh in is tomorrow.....down 23 as of last Friday...hoping for a big whoosh!!!

My opinion - it's not really worth the money they charge for it.

The novi cleanse consists of:
- laxative that is made of aloe, prunes and psyllium. You can just buy psyllium husks at the health food store for the same effect.
- herbs that purportedly "cleanse toxins". The research on such things is pretty inconclusive, if your liver and kidneys are in good working order and you are drinking plenty of water, your body doesn't need help eliminating toxins. That's what those organs do!

I never did the Novi Cleanse in 30 weeks on the diet and had no issues. When my losses were slow because of constipation I just increased my water intake and used either Miralax or Smooth move tea (a senna tea) to get things moving again. Always did the trick just fine.
