New to Ideal Protein

  • Hello - I am on day three of Ideal Protein and seem to be doing OK so far. A little light headed today but had expected to feel poopy this week.

Am 5' 2" and have around 20 pounds to loss. Our son is getting married in June, so I have lots of motivation to take off the weight, hopefully before the bridal shower. Current weight 157 Age 53 (very close to 54)

Have struggled with weight my whole life and am looking for something that I can stick with for life. In the past I have done Weight Watchers as well as Atkins. Choose my coach from a recommendation from a friend.

So far I like most of the food; herb omelet, crispie cereal, choc pudding. Guess I am not very picky.

Looking forward to sharing thoughts with all of you.
  • Welcome Lady!
Glad you made a step toward loosing the weight.
I am so glad I don't have to go through those first 5 days again!
It gets a lot easier and soon you will be in the mother of the groom dress you dream of.
Keep checking in, you will find great ideas and tons of support from this group.
  • Hi ladies! Newbie to Ideal Protein diet, too and on day 5. Yes, the first 3 1/2 days for me were terrible but today it's going much better. Hang in there, safety lady. You are going to look beautiful at the wedding!!
  • Hello SafetyLady,

I'm on day two and having the same lightheaded experience (plus a headache today). I was prepared to start the program, but these first few days sure are a reality check. Can't wait until I feel better.

I'm sure our next weigh-ins will make it well worth it!
  • Welcome!!!

Be sure to read through the newbie threads for FAQ, ideas and recipes!

The first week is always the hardest, but you'll be finished soon and happy with what you see on the scale. Good luck!
  • same for me...first 3 days was horrible but feel great now..the wife and I are both on day 8 and she's having a rough time still but still going like a champ..the walden farms thousand island dressing and sesame ginger are pretty good...bought a wok to cook with and used sesame ginger with some chicken stir fry last night (couple teaspoons olive oil)

  • Welcome everyone......yes the dreaded 3-4 days are rough but for most, much better after that. I have done a ton of diets in my life and this one worked the best and I was able to stick to it for a lot longer. Good luck to all of you!
  • Hang in there. First week or so was an adjustment. I am in week 5 now and feel great. It is worth it. The results are amazing.

New folks are joining every day and there are tons of lurkers who are too shy to join in the party! As word of mouth (and physical evidence of it's benefits) spread there'll be more and more showing up.

I actually found this forum prior to signing up for the program and so glad I did. The combination of a great diet and great support network make this the easiest diet I've ever been on (and I've been on MANY).

Take advantage of all the knowledge that's been posted and if you have a question of your own and can't find the answer drop into the daily thread where you're likely to get an answer quicker than posting a new thread.

Welcome! And glad you could join all of us losers!
  • Welcome! I'm on week 3 and feeling much better I did on my first week. Hang in there, it works Congratulations on your son's wedding!
