Happy Friday - had my WI today - didn't feel any smaller in my clothes this morning so I was a little nervous. I didn't lose any inches this week - but I lost 4.4 lbs! Biggest loss so far! I had a very stressful event on Monday and had a burst of adrenaline which made me so hungry and then so weak - but I stuck to plan and it obviously paid off!

Before I found this forum I was already second guessing myself for spending so much money for yet another unsuccessful attempt to lose weight. I was already sabitoging myself!
Now seeing all your successes and looking at all these tickers and photos I am so motivated to make this work!!

One questions though - I am seeing some big numbers for some people in the first few weeks on the program. Do those numbers tend to be higher if you have a higher starting weight? I'm starting at 162lbs so I wondered if my starting numbers might be lower. I want to set my expectation levels realistically. lol
The 1st week is always the biggest loss as you are losing a lot of water. Second week is usually good, but not as big as the first. Then things settle down to a more regular loss. My first week I lost 6.4, then 3.8 in my second. From what I've seen on this forum, the more you have to lose the bigger your initial losses will be.

Rather than focusing on individual weekly losses, I like to look at the average weekly loss over time. I've lost 39 lbs in 15 weeks which averages out to 2.6 lbs/week. It probably would have been higher, but I had to stop taking my daily diuretic a few weeks ago and had some rebound water retention for a couple weeks. Regardless, I'm very pleased with my weight loss especially as I feel like I'm not even dieting!

OK BREATHE

That is your boredom talking not actual hunger. Time to take back the drivers seat! Find another way to occupy your brain - clean something, read, start a project, go back to your closet and organize the clothes you no longer fit into! Keep your hands and your brain busy and drink lots of water/hot tea. Keep reminding your body who is in charge - YOU not the food!!!

It's the TOM and all I want is red velvet cheesecake, McDonald's french fries, and a big fat juicy burger.

But then I take a look at myself in the mirror and say, "You are almost there, don't give up now."

Thanks again, Scorbett!

Been a stressful week this week, not only at work but at home (sick kid) and with the PTO at school.

BUT I did good this week. We had people leaving, retiring and birthdays with lots of goodies. I walked into the room where the retirement was and all I could smell was sugar! Yes I was tempted for one second but I have noticed things have changed with what I want.

All packed to head out in the morning for sunny climes. We have no snow here, but it's quite cold and windy so I'm happy to be heading where it's warmer.

I keep a lot of my clothes down there since I travel back and forth frequently but thought I'd toss in a few things along with my food and dive gear for friends. Well, it turned out that nothing fit. Guess I'm going to be forced to do some shopping over the next couple of weeks!

Hope all of you in Boston and environs stay warm and safe! The storm sounds like it's pretty crazy!!
