Constipated? I WISH!!!!!

I see so many concerns with constipation. I am the total opposite. Without getting into too much detail, I am on the other end if that problem. Any suggestions? Btw... Week 4 and 17 lbs down. Whoop whoop!

Are you eating any bars with sugar alcohols? The protein bars with sugar alcohols, plus lots of lettuce/spinach, have this effect on me. If you are, you might try cutting them out for a few days and see what happens.

If you are also having bloating & gas, and are eating something with sugar alcohols, I'd guess that is probably the cause of your problem.

I just had natural, real fermented sauerkraut (not the kind made with vinegar). It did a NUMBER on my insides. It'll be my go-to suggestion for ANYONE with the Big C! Who needs a cleanse? I have sauerkraut!

It's weird because about every other week I was that way at first till I hit about week 5 or so and then it stopped. Loved it because it cleaned me out lol.

I did not have gas or bloating... but it ended up going away on it's own. I just figured it was my body adjusting as I always had Digestion issued prior.

I am having the same problem - and it's week 4 for me as well. I've started to document it, which products, etc. It seems to be the Milk protein. The chocolate drink, the wildberry yougurt (was the worst), leek and mushroom soup...Sometimes I just get a lot of gas bubbles but more often it's the D...I'm completely ok with the Fine Herb omelette, broc & cheese soup, soy puffs. I'm going to try taking lactaid (the caplets do not have carbs). I'd rather take something extra and keep my food packet options open.

Do you notice it's worse with specific packets? It happens between 1/2 hour to 2 hours after eating/drinking for me.

My coach tels me mango rtd is also a culprit

Calisto 02-02-2013 10:18 AM

All I drink is the Chocolate RTD so I thought it was that at first, but I drink it 2x a day and it's stopped now...

I've been having the opposite problems, too. I thought it was the Metformin (since that definitely caused "the big D" when I first started it). But that's supposed to go away after while, and I've been able to cut my dosage of Metformin in half since I've been on IP. Maybe it is the sugar alcohols, but I haven't really looked for a trend.

When I first started this diet, I was exactly like you, and I remember I was wondering about others complaining from constipation! But after a while I got back to normal and I never had a problem with the big C! So, I think now that you lost 17 pounds your body will adjust to the new diet.

I was like that the 1st few weeks. Now while not constipated per say, I do need to have a cuppa Smooth Move every once in awhile.

Sugar alcohol is definitely a culprit though.

I think it is partly the sugar alcohols in the bars! I find that since I switched to bars with lower sugar proteins that I m better.
Thanks everybody!
