Thanks for all your insight into living maintenance Ladies !
It is so helpful to hear how you all incorporate this in to your lifestyle.

I do refuse for this be the driving force in my Life ! I think that Only sets you up for disappointment and eventually failure.

Just like how we juggle ,work,family,friends,etc.... We have another Ball to toss in the Air and not let it hit the ground.

Thank you for shining the light at the end of the Tunnel!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! May we all find Our Pot of Gold

I have a friend that got to 110 lbs and started gaining in P2, P3 and P4. SHe told me she couldnt maintain at 110, so she tried to maintain at 120 and still had to do p1 for 5 days a week. I just cant seem to stomach doing P1 that much. I dont know but I am really scared of maintenence I love the way I look now at 115 lbs and can stand to lose 10 more, but I really cant stand to start gaining back

I am just starting month 26 in maintenance. These 26 have been way harder the the 7 to lose the weight. I have constantly had to go to phase 1. But I have not learned balance...I am either phase 1 or "off".

So I have started calorie counting and exercise...I need to find balance. I am currently about 6.5 pounds above my goal weight. But I really want to get down another 10 after that. I stopped at a size 8 after being an 18 my whole adult life an 8 felt awesome. I want to go for a 4.

I am hoping that I get there this time. I think the key to keeping it off is that you have it on your mind 80% of the time

Darbs,
You have done really well. Its really great that you have kept it off for this long.

You touched on allot of what i fear in your explanation. I dont want to be on p1 allot after phase off, so I am trying to get other peoples input on phasing off and what works. Good Luck to us

I found a beginners training program on-line back in November and stuck with it. It kept me on track with my working out because I knew I had to increase my mileage and how long I could run for. So even when I was tired I forced myself to do my scheduled runs...

Now I need to train for something else. I am thinking about a triathlon. I'm getting sick of just running. So adding swimming and biking sounds like a great change!

Darbs
The program I am doing now says 90%. I am having a really tough time with that. I know it's because I am trying to lose into really low bodyfat levels and that doesn't allow for much freedom. I don't seem to be mentally prepared to make the sacrifice yet...but I am working on it

They also say the "right" amount of exercise is 5 hours a week. I have seriously cut back, now I do weights 3 days per week, interval training or spin twice and one Zumba for fun. And I already see noticeable changes in my body...although not on the scale....because I am not being 90% and you can't out exercise poor eating choices!

Are you tracking all your food?

This happened to me too. I can't handle grains in any form so had to take those out of the breakfast. I think phase 3 lets you know how carb sensitive you are. Unfortunately I am extremely carb sensitive.

The hard part about maintenance is that everyone has to figure out what works best for their particular body.
