Dill Pickle Zippers & Fish

I have to report that crushing up Dill Pickle Zippers and coating Tilapia in it, was pretty darn good!

I was not a huge fan of them on their own but I made a mustard, olive oil (just a bit) and lemon juice mixture, dipped the fish in that. Then dipped it in the zippers (with salt and pepper mixed in) placed it on a lined cookie sheet and popped it in the oven for 15-20 min at 350 and WOW!

Crunchy, flavorful... jut wow!

I was really craving some coated fish, I LOVE fish don't get me wrong but after awhile you need to do something different! May try the southwest puffs next... we will see!

The crispy cereal works great as a coating for fish. I used it on Christmas Eve and it was awesome!

I, painstakingly, picked out each piece of cereal from the milk powder, crushed it up, added salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Then I dipped the filet of sole in egg whites then the cereal mixture and baked until flaky.

Best part was that it wasn't restricted :D

ETA: I dumped the milk powder in my chocolate shake later!

i now use an old spice bottle that has the plastic snap on top with large holes in the shaker, dump the cereal in and shake out the "milk" and the crunchies are all neatly in the jar!! much easier after picking them out once, and you are so right, painstakingly!!! haha necessity is the mother of invention!!

I used a baseball cut sirloin steak - not sure if it's the right kind- my sheet just says sirloin and it's only sirloin store had -- and I cooked it in green valley ranch teriyaki sauce

Great idea! I haven't used the cereal with anything but the pancakes, but good to know...

I was thinking of doing this with some cod filets. Has anyone tried it yet?
