  • After many many days doing research and reading the posts on the site, I have finally gotten everything together and started my IP alternative program. With all the amazing info you wonderful peeps have given on here it has been fairly easy to determine what I needed. The alternatives route is what I decided to do as the financial aspect of the IP program is not available to me. I truly hope I have the same success as others that I have read about and a couple I actually know in person!

    Welcome to your last diet!

I was just telling friends this weekend I feel like IP has given me my life back. When you look at it like that, it's really not so expensive (I use a combo of IP products and alts, so I also understand the cost). It truly is becoming a new life.

I'm guessing your "goal" is a starting point. I know I didn't trust myself to stick to this diet at first. Now that I've been on it over 9 months, I'm actually willing to look at my goal and adjust it lower. But first I'll get to the first one I made.

If you're like me, you'll find this the easiest diet you've ever been on.

You can do it!!! I've only done alternatives and hopefully, my weigh-in tomorrow will confirm 36 pounds gone for good. I'm also doing the "alternative" version for diabetics so my losses are a bit slower than others but I'm OK with that. Once you get settled in, check out some of the Quest bars. Yummy!
  • Best life change I have made in a long time! super happy and loving all the support here. Better than a coach! Welcome to the world of "Your last Diet"
  • Just starting, need to lose 100 lbs.... Friend lost 100 lbs so far and over 70 inches in about 7-8 months.
Enjoy the posts and the recipes.
  • Good luck! You will do great! This forum is amazing!
  • welcome fellow Calgarian
  • Thank you all!! So far so good but hey its only day one. The worse part for me is not having my regular diet of diet pepsi!!
  • Stick with it for at least a week. Once you get past the carb withdrawal it will be so much better.
  • You'll love this site, so much encouragement!
  • I feel so grateful to have found IP, I'm sure you will too. Just stick with it and remember that your body will be reluctant at times to let go of the fat..but it will definitely go away with IP! I tried so many other diets and nothing else was working. Be sure to take all the supplements because they are important and can help with the minor side effects (eg, I get a charley horse while sleeping if I haven't had enough sea salt or potassium). Best of luck to you!
  • So far it's been ok. The carb withdrawal was bugging me a bit yesterday evening but I just kind of ignored it. Keeping my fingers crossed that the sucess will happen. Spoke with my doctor and he wants to keep close eye on my blood work and I'm grateful for that. Totally love my doctor he's awesome!!
  • I think the hardest part is the first 5 days or so, then it gets easier. I have been on IP for a little over a month and its a routine now. And I don't feel hungry. It's awesome

Have him keep an eye on thyroid levels. Some of us have has d issues with IP and thyroid. So glad your doc is involved! I got mine involved when I was cold all the time and losing hair (thyroid symptoms). We CAN be healthy and lose weight!
  • I will have him keep an eye on thyroid. Thanks for the heads up on that!
