Great job! I just broke out my Wii Fit last night for the first time in 6 months, I forgot I had a nice 20 minute yoga/strength routine set up on it. Man, did that feel good! I plan on taking a Zumba and a Yoga class starting in January, and I'm getting really excited about exercising again - what a change from this time last year when I could barely get off the couch!

Good Morning Everyone!

Another busy day today. Spent yesterday cleaning...just wondering how the house gets SO DIRTY so fast. Man...For the record, dry erase markers are E-V-I-L, especially in the hands of a cute little girl:devil:

Ramping up for a mega gingerbread house decorating party on Monday. I'm going to be baking and assembling houses this weekend. The kids have a birthday party on Saturday and we are hoping to get to the botanical gardens and see their Christmas display on Sunday. Weekend??? WHAT WEEKEND!

Hope everyone has a good one!

Oh my goodness I know - I can't seem to keep the house clean for more than a few hours when the boys are home. And I've learned all kinds of neat cleaning tricks - like a little baking soda on a wet cloth takes crayon marks off of the screen of my TV :o

It's the holiday season! So tough, but so worth hanging in there.
Today, they have bagels, cream cheese, donuts, on top of the every friday tradition- Pancake Friday.
I sit here happily with my IP choc shake.... happily becaues none of my clothes in my closet fit anymore :)

Great attitude - and while everyone else is freaking out about post-holiday weight gain in January, you'll be relaxed and melting away as usual :)

Then, I remembered that 3 of them asked me about my jeans and wanted to know where to get them. "They look so good, I love them." I was laughing thinking that they must have thought those were miracle jeans, haha!

I love it!!!

UGH, I so feel your pain! Someone brought a huge thing of cookies yesterday, and another time this week it was other sugary stuff... seems like at least two or three times a week I have to resist the junk food on the table while I'm refilling my water bottle!

Good for you for staying strong!

Haha, I love it! I am getting a lot more compliments on my clothes too (I never used to) so I wonder if that's what it is? Think you're on to something there!

With the close of the year coming up, I decided to make a short list of things I'd like to change for 2013 - and the GREAT news is, I don't have to include my weight in that list, because I'm already working on that!!! I realized that I might actually reach my goal weight by the end of January - it means I may have to make Rainbow's spice cake for my birthday instead of having real cake, but I can live with that :) I am going to focus on positive changes that I can make in other areas of my life, because if I can conquer one mountain, why not another?

That's an awesome idea! Goals for self-improvement are always great! It feels nice to not have to add 'working on weight' to the list, doesn't it? :)

My 12 yo dd had her birthday party last Saturday at our house. The girls played Dance Central 3 on XBox-Kinect.

It looked like so much fun so after the party I did one song with my niece, Gangnam Style.....my legs were sore for about 5 days. I think that was a little too intense of a workout for me and the song was probably less than 5 minutes. =)

It was really fun, so I am looking forward to playing/dancing again once I get to phase 3.

Today is my double-up day - working my two jobs, but I started the day with snuggles from my kindergartener (who is frequently too "cool" to kiss his momma goodbye on the playground in the morning), so I'm a happy girl :)

Hugs from our kids are always a great start to the day. Funny how once we conquer weight, it makes us so much more positive and able to face other challeges.

I'm just on day 2, but this was one of the reasons I started yesterday rather than wait until after the holidays. No time better than the present, and I feel better about myself just knowing that I'm taking real steps to get to a healthier weight!

My big 'to do' for later today is to go food shopping so I have a better selection of veggies at the ready in the fridge, and a wider variety of options for dinner. I'm still trying to get more familiar with the IP foods and recipes.

Good for you! That's a great attitude to have. I don't think there are a whole lot of people out there starting a diet 3 weeks before Christmas.

So - I haven't written in awhile due to having been extremely busy, BUT, I just had to post this today. I MET MY GOAL TODAY!!!!! I almost cried! It has been a journey for sure - and at times, a very long 5 months, but it is official - I am now on Phase 2. Gearing up for my surgery on December 18th and so excited to be prepping for Phase 3! 60 pounds and 32 inches gone for good! Just had to share - this board has been a HUGE resource for me from recipes to questions I have had along the way and SO many people have been inspirational to me (even though I didn't post often).

Alma that is so funny! I have been getting ALL of these hair comments and inside I am laughing and outside saying "thank you". Yesterday we had an assembly at the school where I work and a faculty member came up to me afterwards and said she was trying to figure out who the person was sitting with the students and then realized that it was me. Then continued on with all kinds of compliments. Made me feel so good. Today I have on black jeans that are a much smaller size than I normally could wear and I can go down a size because they are loose. Just feels so good.

Yeah, I know! I actually passed a big test on my first day. There was a holiday party at work yesterday with tables and tables of sweets. Everything looked great but I managed to just mingle with everyone while sipping on my water bottle instead of trying one of everything on the tables like I normally would have. I had an IP snack bar beforehand and that definitely helped.

Congratulations!!!! What a great achievement. I don't post much but I definitely read and I agree that this site has been an incredible source of inspiration and information. Best wishes in Phase 2!

I've noticed the same thing other times I've lost weight. One other reason for the behavior occurred to me recently, since it happened to me - only on the other side of the equation. Before I knew about IP, I saw a friend I hadn't seen in several months. She had dropped a significant amount of weight in a short amount of time. I hesitated to say anything at first since I wasn't sure if it was a planned weight loss or if there were a health issue involved. (She later told me that she had gone beyond her goal weight and was trying to just maintain at that point.) Since I've had a number of friends who have had to deal with cancer and other illnesses lately that I catch myself from potentially putting my foot in my mouth by telling someone they look great when they aren't feeling that way at all and really aren't trying to lose weight.

I also think it can often be awkward referencing someone's weight in a conversation, since telling someone they look great after weight loss sometimes seems to imply that you're saying they didn't look great before. That can be tough even if they really do look much better!
