Perfect Skin Solution with Collagen
I have received a lot of help from this site, so thought I would share a happy find with you. I LOVE the IP diet, but my skin got really dry on it. I used olive oil to handle but it stopped my weight loss (the oil absorbs through the skin and gets utilized by the body). I searched and finally found the perfect solution: an oil free moisturizer(also happens to be scent free, which I personally love), with no toxic chemicals and with collagen. It tightened my skin, handled the dryness and I absolutely love it. And it only costs $5-$6. It's available at Trader Joe's or on line and is a Trader Joe's product called Nourish.

Thanks for sharing. I will try it! I love Trader Joe's.

Thanks for the tip! I've been looking for other ways to get some extra collagen!
|
Thank you! I just bought some. :) The only thing is I wished it had some SPF in it, as I've always used moisturizer with it. But still, thank you!

OMG, I am appalled that olive oil applied on the skin could get absorbed and used by the body! I keep stumbling across information like that and I think, "No wonder losing weight is SO hard!" Amazing...
Thanks for the tip! I don't have a Trader Joe's near me, but I could look for it online. |
thx for the tip! Im goign to get some today!
|
Thanks, I'll check it out.

Since day 1 of the IP diet for me, I dry from the shower, squirt extra light olive oil and mix with Lubriderm for dry skin. (I know, I know you are probably thinking that I smell like a mixed salad, Lol). It works and has not slowed my weight loss. Wyoming is a very dry climate and you need all the help that you can get moisturizing.

With all due respect using the HCG diet as a reference for anything true is a bit like using fairy tales in place of history textbooks.
The fats commonly used in lotions are too big to pass the skin barrier into the blood stream. Just think about if this weren't true ... you could squeeze someone's flab too hard and squeeze their fat out ... :D |
I need to look for more info. My instincts tell me not to believe what an HGC site says without finding a more reputable source. I found some info about molecules and NOT getting into the bloodstream. I'm going to keep looking. I'm also pretty picky about what I put on my skin.

What is true for you, is what is true for you
We each have to find out for ourselves what works for us and what makes sense to us and what we observe to be true. Not to mention that every body is different and may react and respond differently to various things. So, if what I said made sense to you - fine. If it didn't, no worries. And, think about this: if things put on your skin couldn't get into the body, than why can some cosmetics and other chemicals you come in contact with through your skin pollute your body and cause metal toxicity, immune system problems, cancer and lord know what else? There is plenty of data to support this, not just the HGC diet (which though I am personally not fond of, does work very well). We live in a society driven by money. Drug companies, chemists, cosmetics companies and large food corporation -among other vested interests - would like us to believe that no matter what poisons we put on or in our bodies cannot really harm us. Well, guess again.

use olive oil and aloe as my skin conditioner, not at the same time. I use avacado and cucumber on my face, again, not at the same time.
I am doubtful that these foods get absorbed into my body. Oh and I also use egg, mayo and vinegar in my hair. not at the same time. |
