Greetings from Canada this beautiful "calm before the storm" weekend. I hear there's going to be a "perfect storm" happening in our area Tuesday or Wednesday due to Hurricane Sandy heading our way at the same time as a snowier type storm heading from the west. It should be interesting!

At least I have a full box of IP food to keep me 100% on track so we'll just batten down the hatches and know where to find the candles!

Minch, I hope the storms don't cause too much drama in your area. We were a little worried that Sandy was going to visit us - making our third Hurricane visit this year. At least you are prepared.

Be safe...

ugh, stupid Sandy. She is stressing me out, I have been looking forward to my NYC trip for months, my flight is Tuesday night, and I keep checking my flight info all the time. it did say it is waiving cancel charges, so worst comes to worst i guess I fly out Wednesday night or thursday night, maybe stay longer. Being a florida native I know this storms sometimes have a mind of there own and change every moment...I guess i will just vent and wait... makes me want to eat pancakes this morning! IP pancakes of course.

Enough about me, how have you all been? i haven't checked in , in forever!!!

Good Morning IPeeps! I have got a busy day ahead of me! Downtown Trick-or-treating with my kiddos, volunteering at a Bountiful Basket site, Boy Scout bowling Party and Pumpkin Bobbing at our Rec Center. It will be busy but fun. I am bagging veggies and making oatmeal muffins to take with me so I have something to snack on. Have a great Saturday all!

Good morning! Woke up to 20 degree temp & heavy frost this morning, but the sun is breaking through, so should be a pretty day at least.

Wishing for safety for all of you in Sandy's path over the next several days! Sounds like even here in northern MI we may get some backlash from it in the form of winds & snow next week.

Have a great weekend!

Hi, I am new to this whole thing...and honestly, new to dieting and sticking with it. I am almost finished with the first week of IP, and I can't believe I have actually stuck with it! I noticed our weight goals are identical...I started at 165, and my goal is 130! My scale at home says I have lost 8 pounds already (this is day 5), but I can't wait to see what the real weigh in shows on Monday! I am from the south, and we LOVE to eat and cook. I've been making different recipes with the products (Vanilla drink mix with pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon is getting me through my Fall cravings). So, the packets are killing me, but I'm hoping to meet my goal by Thanksgiving or a week after, so that hopefully by Christmas I can be enjoying the maintenance phase and eat real food and maintain long term weight loss. I was just wondering if you all could tell me how to do this whole forum thing...i want a ticker...and how do I get to recipes? If any of you have any tips/tricks I would love to hear, I really want to do this, this time! I am dedicated to staying in it until I reach 130! I have also noticed I feel a LOT better in general on this diet. I'm not tired and achy, it's great! Thanks in advance for any assistance ya'll can give me!

Hi Rachel
Welcome to IP. This diet works with zero cheats. Go back and read the very first post in this thread. Many of the links answer the questions you ask, including the ticker (you have to wait)

Good Morning,

Had to attend parties for lunch and dinner.

Did 1,300 in cals yesterday. But learned my lessons.

At both parties I got so many compliments, enjoyed those moments.

Good Morning ! Well today is day 6 for me and so far I have been 100% OP. This really isn't as hard as I thought it would be. My weigh in is Monday.
I had a slight chill all day yesterday but that has gone away. I didn't get the headache everyone talked about. And I have tons of energy. love it !
So here we go, hopefully smooth sailing to the end. I expect to reach my Goal by May 2013.

Sandy is due to hit somewhere around here on Monday or Tuesday.
But to be honest I have a feeling the media is blowing this thing out of porportion.

Have a great day
(waiting patiently for my ticker)

Up in maine for a family wedding. I have all of my IP packets to get me through the weekend. The news in CT talking about lines at the gas stations and grocery stores. So, we will stop for supplies up here before driving home.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Gee, I've never heard of trick-or-treat in any night except Oct 31. Is this a special thing or should I expect doorbells tonight?

BTW: a little math trick I learned says how Halloween and Christmas are related because OCT 31 = DEC 31 ... that is 31 in the numbering system that only counts up to 7 before going back to 0 with a carry is the same quantity as 25 in the numbering system that counts up to 9 before going back to 0 with a carry.
