Do I force myself to eat it even if I feel very full?
My IP coach told me to follow the diet to the exact detail. I purchased a weight food scale because my IP handout said I need to eat 8oz of protein for dinner. Well, 8oz of chicken is too much for me. For example, today I swapped my dinner and lunch times. So I'm trying to finish up my 8oz chicken, but I'm already full from eating half of it. I had 2 cups of broccoli with the chicken and finished the broccoli. I'm going to try to finish the remaining 4 or 5oz of chicken in a couple of hours, but I seriously doubt I will be hungry.
Do I force myself to eat it even if I feel very full? It doesn't make sense of force myself to eat if I feel full. That's how I got fat in the first place. I plan to have an IP meal (i.e. soup) for dinner tonight. |
If you aren't hungry, don't force yourself to eat. Only eat if you are hungry.

Are you eating 8 oz of COOKED chicken or weighing the 8 oz raw?
You should eat everything, as IP is so low calorie and you need to make sure to get everything in, but you can always save some for later. Nothing says you need to eat it all in one sitting. And from experience, I can feel very full after a meal (particularly soup) but then be hungry 2 hours later. |
Don't skip meat. I never eat lettuce at dinner and rarely all at lunch. My veggie servings are less than two cups too. I eat 6oz after cooking

I understood 6-8oz of lean protien I wouldn't force myself to eat everything. It might come back up.... not trying to be gross or anything.

My coach said that I should try and finish my dinner protein. The sheets used to have smaller amounts of protein suggested, but the new sheets all say 8oz. (that is raw, not cooked weight).
Also, I only had trouble finishing 8oz of protein the first week or two. After my body adjusted to being on plan, I really craved the lean protein meal of the day. |

I got nothing. I could probably eat an entire chicken.

Somedays I guess I could too ....LOL ! |
In my opinion if you're only talking about not eating 4 oz of protein more it makes no difference.
Also, you're going to get more hungry in the future. Unless your body is broken in someway where you don't feel hunger you're going to have your appetite increase as you get leaner and leptin levels decrease. |
I agree.
My clinic says they find the leaner clients who are closer to goal often are hungrier. Less bodyfat to supply fuel! |
If the meal is too big having all of your protein at dinner, try having some of it at lunchtime, or add some eggs to your breakfast (1 whole egg is about the equivalent of 2oz of your protein). But you NEED to eat everything that is on your sheet. This is a very low calorie diet, so every bit of food we are required to have is important.

I ate the remaining chicken about 2.5 hrs after feeling full at lunch. Thank you all for you input. :)
