New Thread

so i have a question....but i was wondering...should i start a thread with a new question...if i wanted a question for clarification...or ask in the daily thread...how do you think a question would relate to the daily discussion?

i wouldn't want to ask a question that probed assumptions, because wouldn't a question be looking for facts??

or should i ask the question for viewpoints and perspectives? and if a question is necessary, should i mark the new thread as urgent for questioning?

and if no one answers the question, what would be the implication? they don't like questions? don't understand the question? disagree with the question?

maybe i should ask the moderator the question about questioning?

maybe we should all practice asking question so we know when and where to ask questions

i mean...A question may be either a linguistic expression used to make a request for information, or else the request itself made by such an expression

Questions are normally put forward or asked using interrogative sentences. However they can also be formed by imperative sentences, which normally express commands

conversely, some expressions, have the grammatical form of questions but actually function as requests for action, not for answers, making them allofunctional. (A phrase such as this could, theoretically, also be viewed not merely as a request but as an observation of the other person's desire to comply with the request given.)

and don't you think that Raising a question may guide the questioner along an avenue of research?

and what about a rhetorical question....a rhetorical question is asked to make a point, and does not expect an answer!!! how is one to know what the questioner means??

oh and should i ask a direct question or an indirect question??

after all, Questions are used for the most elementary stage of learning

all these questions keep me questioning....should i question myself??? by the way, who invented the question???

and if you've clearly read all the way to this point, i'm seriously questioning your sanity!! AND MINE!!!

have a nice day?!????!! is that a question??
