Here we go! IP consult scheduled.
I have my IP consult tomorrow evening. I'm SO ready, and have major motivation. (ask me again in a few weeks LOL). I'm ready to do this. Its going to be tough to be on during the holidays, but I like challenges! Anyone else starting on Thursday?
|
Hi breezie68,
I just started IP on Monday, it is a bit of a struggle as it takes a bit of time getting use to the taste of the food, but I am going to keep going as I have heard great things about the diet and I know that I am going to see results. I have been feeling a bit tired today and have a slight headache. I am not feeling hungry and I think it is too soon for any cravings to set in. I wish you the best of luck. |
You will do great! Just remember that the first week is the hardest and then you really won't be hungry. Good Luck :)
|
go to the store, pick up some Mrs. Dash flavors, 2 zucchini, 2 cucumber carton of mushrooms, pack of celery, eggs and stevia packets; you don't want to have too much that it goes bad but its nice to have some food at home while you look through things day 1 and 2 to get your shopping list together.
GOOD LUCK! |
I'm on day 2 as well, ready4thin. I've had cravings though it's weird. I just really want a soft drink and some chips. Huge weakness for me! I have a headache too and I'm so tired.
The chicken soup is very good but the tomato basil not so much. Bleh! So far, all of the bars are awesome, and so are the garlic and onion nuts. The one thing I miss though is avocado! I love avocado and they're not bad for you. It makes me upset that I can't eat them because I know they are low in calories and carbs, but I guess the fat might be a little high. Who knows? Anyway, good luck breezie! So far it's hard, but from seeing my boss and his family, I know it works! |
Hey Breezie! Good luck with IP! It is good that you have gotten the mindset of this is going to be a challenge. The first week is. I'm on week 4 so very near to your point. I still am hungry a bunch of the times and I drink alot of water and always have. I think the biggest change for me so far has been today when I walked into a lounge FULL of all kinds of goodies and I mean tons of them. I work at a school and the parents were treating us for Halloween with enough sugar to feed a third world Courtnay. My very first thought was I cannot imagine what that would do to me right now - eating any sugar. Is topped dead in my tracks when I realized I wasn't thinking about how much I could eat or how to cheat but what it would do to my body ! I made my leek soup (my personal favorite!) and left the lounge. The smell was enough to knock me out of ketosis alone!!! I didn't want to be aorund it and I am/was a sweet tooth junkie!

The first week is the worst. Once you get into ketosis, it's smooth sailing. You will no longer be hungry and you won't have any more cravings.
I am sure your coach will tell you, but during your first week, it is ok to go up to 5 packets a day (only 1 can be restricted, though). You can also have 2 eggs whites a day (free), so take advantage of them. If you get a headache, try licking some of the salt off of your hand. Or eat a pickle or 2. This will also satifsy a crunchy/salty craving. Take advantage of the unlimited lettuce. Steam your veggies and save your olive oil allotment for making a salad dressing to use on the lettuce. This way at lunch and dinner you can have a "salad" and your veggies. This will help fill you up. I use the Good Seasons dressing. It is the one you buy the carafe for. The envelopes are only spices, and I make it with water, apple cider vinegar and olive oil. Drink tons of water. Also, I know they say no gum, but if it means that a piece of gum will save you from eating off plan, I chose the gum every time. Again, once you make it through the first week, it will get easier. And once you start seeing the results, well that will be motivation enough to stick with it! :D |
Good for you, breezie! Taking that first step is the big hurdle . . . once I decided, I had to get in IMMEDIATELY before I started finding excuses not to do it, and I'm so glad I followed my instincts. I'm just about at the end of Week 3, and I can't believe how good I feel. I'm having a blast experimenting with the recipes (Big Mac in a Bowl tonight - it was fabulous!), and I have more energy that I've had in 20 years. So yeah, there are some challenging moments, but keep focusing on the good stuff, and those moments pass quickly.
And definitely keep posting here - This board is such great support! |
