Drive Thru Lunch?

I am at the end of my 2nd week and having a hard time getting lunch in being that I am in pharmaceutical sales and cover a large territory. I also get home late and have 3 kids and hubby to tend to so I have to sit and do work until late, which is when I really get hungry. I desperately need suggestions on what I can do to make this easier. I have placed a large order with Nashua. I also ordered the Jillian Michaels shake to save some money, but its just not very good..... Please offer suggestions.

Carl's Jr. low carb burger - no cheese, mayo or ketchup. Next time I'd add a packet of WF thousand island dressing.

I take my lunch & eat my dinner. My lunch is usually IP soup (in a thermos)with veggie purée and some celery or cukes in the side.

For dinner I eat my 8 oz protein AND 2 c veggies ON TOP of a huge pile of greens on hungry days. Don't forget the evening snack

What advise has your coach given?

Subway grilled chicken salad with spinach and lettuce and WF dressing.

I travel 2 days a week for my second job doing NP home assessments for an insurance company. For lunch I bring a restricted bar or crisps and some cut up cukes and bell peppers w/EVOO and salt in a tupperware with a plastic fork. Portable, not messy and quick. I have also stopped at grocery stores or places with a salad bar and made my own salad to eat in the car with my restricted.

you could always pour the packet into the shaker at home in the morning and stop at a convenience store to get a large cold bottle of water and mix and drink in the car, then finish the water as part of your daily water intake.

I swing thru Subway or even MacDonald has a decient salad. Jack in the box has grilled chicken tenders that work in a pinch.

Subway is my favorite for a quick lunch. I buy the single serve packets of WF dressings from Nashua nutrition. I usually keep 1 or 2 of those in my purse in case I am out for lunch or dinner.

Also the ready to drink shakes are good for a busy schedule.

I travel for work between clinics as well and sometimes have this problem! I try to make sure to bring WF dressing and I can always stop at a grocery store or restaurant with a salad bar. I also try to bring my restricted item for the day, so I have an easy thing to eat that doesn't need to be mixed.

The key to any busy schedule and staying on plan is PLANNING! If it's easier for you to grab lunch rather than bring it along, most supermarkets have a salad bar - but it's just as easy to pack ahead of time and keep a cooler in your car (and much cheaper!). Plan your IP products so that lunch is a grab-and-go snack and pack 2 cups chopped veggies and some lettuce in a cooler. On our busy days I throw dinner in the crockpot so that I don't have to stress about cooking after a long work day. I also will often cook up 2lb of chicken breasts on Sunday (I just poach them in some water and Apple Cider vinegar with seasonings), and keep that in the fridge - I can measure out my protein portion quickly and use it on salad, in stir fry, whatever. If you take a little time on Sunday to plot things out for the week it makes everything much easier!
