Low calories and ketosis do not mix well with exercises that bring you above 65% of your maximal heart rate for considerable time. The chances that your body then starts breaking down muscle for gluconeogenesis are significant. And your biggest muscle is your heart. I think 1 extra package does not cut it. But it is your heart.

You're out of ketosis in P3 and increasing calories as well. My concern is whether the additional 500 or so calories are sufficient for 2 days that I'd be doing it that week.

IP program is developed for no exercise until maintenance - if you want to exercise why do you follow this program ? I wonder what Dr Tran would think about that coach recommending exercise... It seems some people wants to reinvent the wheel.

I'm 2 weeks from maintenance so thought it might be a good idea to get started. I, for one, don't really want to have to go back to P1/P2 days or weeks because I slipped back in to the old sedentary, eat whatever way of life. Paleo diet combined with CrossFit appears to be a way to avoid that.

Like I said, the program states to start exercising in maintenance- I totally agree with doing whatever it takes to not gain all the weight back (exercise/Paleo/low carb/etc) it's a no brainier if you go back to your "old" ways you WILL gain all the weight back and more! BUT EllaBella who is the one that started the thread stated Crossfit in P1.. And as you and I know exercise is not allowed in P1. Unless she's doing alternatives or else.

My coach only recommended avoiding exercise while the body was acclimating to ketosis. Moving to P3 begins the process of moving out of ketosis.
M35A2: You've done so well, just listen to your body. You'll know what to do.
