I think coaches draw their own conclusions about certain aspects of IP instead of trusting the protocol as written. If you are in the "less carbs is better" mindset, you are going to assume that no restricteds is better than one. But that's not necessarily true, even from a physiological standpoint. Yes there are going to be a SMALL percentage of people who are very sensitive to carbs - and those people may benefit from no restricteds. But the vast majority of people will not fall into that category and will see no difference, or even possibly a stall in weight loss, from cutting out the restricted.

When I was at the clinic the dietician told me that it was even better for me not to have a restricted, that I would lose faster I would say eat them, as IP is written. Another coach of mine told me that if I stalled, to add a restricted in...
