Fat is Natures BONDO!
Just saying...Bondo, for those who do not know what it is....is what body shops use to fill in small dents and cracks on cars that are damaged.
Well...as I lose more weight I am seeing more wrinkles on my face and neck...like what an old man would get. BUMMER. It occurred to me that FAT was like bondo...kept them filled in! I also have been observing people and now notice that fat people look YOUNGER! It true! I also noticed TV personalities who lost weight, and they all look older when thinner. The people I know who have lost lots of weight ALL look older when thinner. There WAS something to be said for being fat! Just thinking out loud. Have a great weekend all! Jake |
I completely agree, Jake!! A little bit of fat plumps out those fine lines... :)
This is why I don't want to be too thin. I'm looking to be at around 30% body fat - definitely not below 25%, and will adjust my goal accordingly as I get closer. I want to be in a healthy range, certainly, but nothing extreme. |
My plan is to win the lottery and have plastic surgery!

My husband has lost 70 pounds on IP and looks younger! Good thing I am younger than he is so I don't look like a cougar.

I agree...I notice that where my dimples are...they are becoming less of a dimple and more of a line...that will eventually be a wrinkle...I also notice that I suddenly have lines in my forehead. Yep, that fat on my face was keeping me in baby face mode. But I will take healthier over the wrinkles any day. :D

While you're losing weight, especially on something like the IP diet, your face can become pretty gaunt.
When your weight becomes stables I think you'll find your face fills out a little. Every face is different, of course. You can always start taking 10g of creatine a day to create a little bloat which will fill out your face too. |
My neck shows signs of loss, but I have to say my face has held up really well, no lines. I guess other people expect you to look older too once you lose weight because I've had so many people say to me that my face looks really good for someone who has lost so much weight.

I noticed that my upper arms which had a little loose skin, are starting to tighten up. I was using moroccan argon oil for 2-3 months (Sewmama recommendation), stopped 6 weeks ago when I left for a couple of trips, gained back 5 pounds, and my arms look better but then they started looking better before I left as well.
I do not think the extra weight is what's causing my arms to not sag (fat filling in as mentioned above), because they look toned (a la Michelle Obama). Think its just time. However, I also think the morroccan argon oil is good and I bought 2 more bottles before I went away 6 weeks ago and will begin using it again on my arms and chest tonight (upper chest and neck - just to rejuvenate the skin, no real sagging there). Agree that the face can look gaunt and I can see a little of that around my mouth - nasolabial folds are deeper when I'm feeling tired. Experimenting with a couple of new products by Eminence which seem to tighten the skin. More to come on that. |
