Omron scale
 

I'm thinking about getting an Omron scale. I did a search and that there are different models. Which did you get? Is it accurate or consistent? I'm just trying to make up my mind!

I have that one as well and I highly recommend it.

I have the same Omron scale. I find that the weight is very consistent and exactly the same as my clinic's Tanita scale. The fat % and muscle % are not as consistent. I use them as a guide over time. I would recommend it.

I have that same one. I bought it almost 6 months ago when I started the diet, but decided to go alternative products and do my own weigh-ins. I absolutely love it. It's definitely motivating to be able to track all those measurements, in addition to the weight loss. :)

This is a VERY important point.

Bioimpedance measurement has a margin of error of around 8% when measuring body fat. If you think the Omron scale is different you're wrong. The reason this is important to know is that you could jump on the scale and have it read 40% BF on week one. You could follow the protocol perfectly and the next week it could say 42% BF. This is due to the margin of errror.

Over time it does tell you you're headed in the right direction but if you think it is accurate every time you use it the results can be devestating to your mind set.

Personally I believe measurements and pictures over time are a far better way to measure progress but everyone has an opinion...

ITA with this statement. I don't really rely on my Omron to be 100% 'scientifically' accurate at each weigh-in. Although I do weight myself at the same time each morning, in the same circumstances to try to be as 'equal' as possible. I'm looking more at the overall trend in the measurements (all of which have consistently been heading in the right direction over the past 6 months).... to me, that's what's important.

I am excited. I just ordered my 514 last night. Just took a guess on ordering this one as it looked like it had the best features. Glad to get the valuable input from IPeeps that have one.

I just got an Omron scale and am having trouble getting it to do the body composition part. How long do you have to hold that stupid bar in front of you? It seems like I am holding it there forever with nothing happening!
