Someone needs to make an IP iPhone app

Just saying. That would be awesome.

I'm so used to tracking WW on online, it seems primitive writing stuff down in a book.

IP has one coming out within the next year I think...which doesn't help you now.

There are numerous apps you can use that have IP already in them. I use my net diary, some people use my fitness pal.

Personally, I didn't track until I was in maintenance and SOME people go by the way their body feels. Just have 140+ lbs I felt more security in tracking as I didn't know what X amount of food actually felt like.

Good Luck

Seems there's an app for everything, maybe a savvy IPer will make it happen!

I find the one of the best things about IP is NOT tracking. I did for the first week out of curiosity, but now I don't see a reason since there aren't that many variables to account for.

It's not necessarily for tracking the calories - more for checking off water, supplements, vegies, to keep track of weight, measurements and body fat - that kind of stuff would be nice. To keep track of your progress.

To keep track of my measurements and weight, I like to use the tracker on WW. There's something very satisfying about seeing a downward slope on a graph to keep me motivated! Plus, it also makes me feel great to see the "losing too fast" warning that pops up on WW when I lose more than 2 lbs in a week!

I currently use Myfitnesspal.com. It has all the Ideal Protein foods in their database and YES, LOVE the downward slope of the progress graph!!!! Oh and you can also print off your journal each week to bring to your site. No more hand writing for me!!!

I also use my fitness pal. LOVE it!

I use MFP too, but only as an occasional double check/out of curiosity. I try not to log every day because I become too obsessed... lol. I use the weekly planner sheet so it can get a little excessive.

RN4Babies 09-26-2012 11:57 AM

I used MFP before I started IP and lost 42 pounds. I LOVE it. I haven't used it at all since starting IP, but now I'm intrigued knowing they have the IP foods in their database! :carrot:

Question...what did you set as your daily nutritional goals? Or, do you just disregard the recommended calories/etc. Any additional IP/MFP advice would be gladly appreciated! :)

DakotahDaddy 09-26-2012 02:35 PM

I've been using MFP since week 3 and am constantly amazed at the foods I find already in their database. If the food isn't there, you can add it if you have the nutrition information. That being said, you really need to watch out and read the nutrition information for the foods you are selecting. More than a few entries are incorrect or incomplete. I've considered trying MyNetDiary to see if they keep stricter controls on their database to improve accuracy, but the $10 price tag has put me off for now. With MFP being FREE, the price is certainly right and it has been great so far. My coach loves the printed food diaries as there is so much more information than I could possibly put into the written diary. The only thing she doesn't like is that it draws attention to the excessive amount of sugar in these IP packets / foods which really kills her arguments against alternative products.

I use MFP too. I know we dont have to track but I like to. I just disregard the calorie/nutrition warnings. I do have to redo it all into my journal though because my coach wants to see those every time. I wish there was a way to print your logs from MFP

I love MyFitnessPal as well! My coach had never heard of it before today, she is going to share it with her other dieters as well! So easy to use and you get to see all of your stats for the day! :D

MonicaKolesnik 10-01-2012 06:40 PM

but you can print your logs from MFP. If you log on to MFP on the computer then go to track food, it will give you the stats for the day and if you scroll to the bottom it says full printable version.

i love MFP! I sync it with my fitbit and use the fitbit website to log water, wight, body fat percentage and measurements.
