It is always frustrating when you forgo things during the day only to give in at night...but a piece of your own birthday cake sounds pretty important!

Neat! I wouldn't have bought the ticket on my own but was so glad my kids got the tickets for my birthday back in the summer. It was an unbelievable show. But it took me a few moments to follow who I was "there" with. LOL

I think you are from Calgary? you would want to go to the grey Cup this year.

My daughter is a nurse and worked in Colorado for two years a while ago. She loved it because it had all the winter activities like here but with a milder climate . She loved skiing there.

That is fantastic, you worked so very hard at it.

I was thinking while driving today about your post on gaining on vacation and not getting it all off but not gaining between vacations.

That was exactly they way I was before IP. I went from 204 to 160 by cutting out wheat. But then I was in another position with my work and we had to go to training every winter for a week in Toronto.

It was in a fancy hotel and booked solid so no time to move around much and three huge excellent meals a day. I gained 3 pounds each time, never got it off and after 5 years in the position I left it with 15 extra pounds.

I usually don't do too bad on vacations because we walk a lot.

Coming from such a cold climate we like to go somewhere warm and really take advantage of getting outside.

As you know getting those small gains off right away is so important. It is how we use the time between special times that adds up.

I need my discipline back!
It's your birthday! Of course you should have a piece of cake with the kids.
Lots of time for discipline tomorrow.

Have a happy rest of your day.

Pat, I lived in Calgary for a few years in the 80's. I was 20-25 around that time. Went to SAIT. My exDH went to Alberta College of Art, and his father taught there. It's a nice city, but Denver has better weather!

That is how I gained my weight too. One vacation at a time. And I still have a hard time with it. So I am carrying around half of my Jamaica weight gain and now I'm headed off to Florida for a week tomorrow. It is going to be stressful with my father's recent ALS diagnosis. I will just have to do the best I can.

I do have plans for NO ALCOHOL in December and January. Or no alcohol until I get to 120#. If that should happen before the end of January, then I will lift my ban. So, that will be tough with Christmas, but I have already had my fun. I'm wearing evidence of it on my thighs!

Hi ladies!

I was at a women's Christmas function last night and a woman that I know asked me flat out in front of 4-5 other people "Sara, how much do you weigh?"

I stared at her in shock and answered because I honestly didn't know what else to say and my mind went blank.

I am not embarrassed of my weight by no means (as I have worked damn hard to lose 95 lbs and to get to where I am at) but I would NEVER ask an 'acquaintance' that!

Perhaps since I was fat most of my life I am just being overly sensitive to think that a question like that is off limits?!

What do you think?

People say the darndest things!! It never ceases to amaze me. i agree it was an inappropriate question. Perhaps she was just shocked at how great you look and that as just the first thing that came t mind?? Kind of like the first thing that came to your mind was to answer. Hmmm.

I had my own kind of weird conversation yesterday. i was dealing with a family at work whom I had just met. They had just arrived in town. They asked me where to go for coffee and sweets, so I told them about my former favorite place. They went and had a good experience. Severl hours lter they asked me where they could go for good Mexican, so I told them. They said that I had been right about the coffee and sweet shoppe, so why not take my dinner recommendation, too. I said the first thing that came to mind, which was "when you want to know where to eat, just ask the fat chick!!" That is something I used to say. They looked at me like I was nut!! It took me a minute to realize what I had said. Then I was mortified and explained that I had lost all of this weight... It all turned into TMI and I was glad when they left. Oh well, it just takes awhile to get used to the new body.

Uggghhhh, that was rude and completely inappropriate. I would have said in a nice but as snarky as possible way, "I don't weigh myself...I just focus on how I am feeling and how my clothes fit". UNREAL.

Thanks everyone.

I WISH I could take back time to reply to her with a witty comment but alas, I was a deer in the head lights and froze.
