2 cups

Do you weigh your veggies or do you use a measuring cup?? I have been using a measuring cup but wasn't sure that I was getting 16 ounces of veggies if I am suppose to get 16ounces or not. My coach just said 2 cups.

What is your favorite veggie too??

I personally have two: Mushrooms and Zucchini

I use a measuring cup. My coach never gave me a weight. I love most vegetables, especially, kohlrabi, cukes, bell pepper, mushrooms, arugula, asparagus, broccoli.

The 2 cups are a measure of volume not weight. So a measuring cup is the way to go. It gets very tricky with some veggies...

My favorite is spinach! And I would never have said that 3 months ago. Then, my answer would've been the one I'm not eating :)

Vegetables are measured with a cup, and they should be raw when measured.

Meat is measured by weight.

Thank you so much! Thats what I have been doing and I wasn't sure if I was doing it wrong. Specially when you grill too like mushrooms tend to shrink or zucchini when you cook it so I wasn't sure. Thanks again!

I have read that the weight of the meat measured should be the "cooked weight" can someone verify this

My coach said meat should be the pre-cooked weight. Veggies measured raw, except he said I could go a little bit overboard on spinach because it cooks down so much.

Since I'm not a genius in the kitchen (or anywhere else for that matter!) ... when you're measuring your two cups of raw cauliflower ... how big or small are the pieces supposed to be? Is it 2 cups finely chopped? 2 cups bite sized? Cooking has never really been my thing, except out of a box or the frozen food section, so I never learned any of this growing up!! (There needs to be a Smilie with a dunce cap!! LOL)

I put together a chart for myself that has common veggies and how many grams makes up a 2 cup serving. Other folks here have done it too.
