Ham??
Hey all!
I hope everyone's having a great weekend! I'm just starting my 4th week of IP and lost a total of 16 lbs so far. For some reason, I'm really craving an egg/ham omelete, so I was wondering what kind of ham you guys use? The papers I got from my coach actually says Fat Free Ham-- but I'm not sure which one to buy. Is there a specific brand? Many of them are also cured with sugar. Please and thank you, Sara:carrot::carrot: |
Hillshire Farms 97% fat free Deli Select ham seems like a good choice:
in a 2oz serving: 60 cal 2g fat 1g carb (from sugar) 9g protein |
Essay Fat Free from the deli counter
Esskay
Fat free Ham There are 40 calories in a 1 slice (2 oz.) serving of Esskay Fat free Ham. Fat: 0g (Saturated Fat: 0g). Carbs: 0g. Protein: 10g. |
Can we have deli turkey as well? As long as it's not honey roasted or something like that? I was craving some plain roasted Boar's Head turkey or chicken on a salad?

I don't believe deli meats are permitted on protocol. The sugar in most hams would make them off limits. :( Sad truth...

I checked on the Phase 1 protocol sheet from May of this year - it definitely lists Fat Free cooked ham as an approved meat.

My coach says smoked ham is fine just cut off the extra fat its the sodium that would be the issue but definitly NO deli ham. I had ham for Easter but going to opt for other meats until I'm done the program.
