Good morning my IP family! Gong hiking today then relaxing with hubby at the family camp. We spent the last 4 days watching the grand babies... so much fun. The 3 yo learned that he loves green peppers as a snack, just like Nonnie! lol

Vet... I posted about our visit on Wed, think you were off the board that dayl Thanks again for being such an amazing host. So sorry about you feeling ill... get well vibes coming your way!

Happy Birthday Chole!! How's P3 fitting you??? So excited to see you announce GOAL soon!!

Scorbett - thanks for the info. My step daughter just mentioned that she thinks she's had ADD forever, but learned to deal with it. Now that she's and adult and holding down a job she's beginning to get frustrated. I'll definitely check out that site!

Aimiloo - I love going into the city! Maybe bring him on the swan boats? I know it's cliche, but everyone's got to do it, right? Where do you live? (If you're comfortable telling here)

Wishing everyone a great OP IP day!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I'm up early this morning and on a mini-vacation weekend. Planning to stay OP today, especially since tomorrow is my weigh-in day. I even brought my scale with me! (I am doing this diet on my own and not through a center) I haven't weighed since Tuesday. I'm trying really hard to only weigh once a week from here on out. HOPE EVERYONE HAS A WONDERFUL FRIDAY!!!!

Week 1 WI: -6.6

Vet sorry you're not feeling well and happy bday chloe!!!!! I managed my bday a few days ago OP you can do it!

I'm taking my son into Boston today to see Daddy's office and have lunch. No real plans other than that and walking around the city a little.

I woke up feeling better about the job thing, I was really proud of myself for not giving into old habits. That deserves a dancing carrot.
You did awesome yesterday. And you can only focus on the next thing, if this job didn't work out there must be something better on the horizon

Have fun in Boston! We are actually headed into town on Tuesday to the children's museum. One last fun field trip before kindergarten starts!

Thanks for the heads up on the ADD videos...one of my sons has it , though he insists it doesn't effect his life anymore. (yeah, right . Mama knows better.)

Rainbow, I needed to put my shades on to read your post! And good morning to you too friend

I heard something interesting on the radio this morning that I think all of you will be interested in. Good Will takes clothes that are not good enough to re-sell (torn, holey, stained) and recycles them! So when you're sorting and getting rid of your clothes that are too big, just bag the "throw away" ones seperately and let them know when you drop them off that this bag is the "throw away" pile. Keeps them out of the landfills.

Have a great OP day everyone!
My sons have ADHD too so I'm always interested in info on that so a bit TY for posting. As for Good Will, we don't have one near by so I donate to all the other various groups, but I always love Good Will the most as they provide jobs for mentally handicapped people. It's hard for people with challenges to get work, but it is so important so I'm giving your suggestion the big thumbs up!

NSV:
1) drinking all my water finally, only decaf coffee (day 4 so should be over the cravings...), no diet pop or even gum for a week... (after reading all the 'malitol' posts)...Getting there!
2) When I put my hands on my hips to give the "disapproving mother look" to aforemenmtioned ADHD kids, I can tell there are less hips! Wooo hoo!
3) Got me a big pot of veggies of things I never eat (added bok-choy to the mix) and about to "puree" for the day so I have frozen veggies to add to my soups and sauces before the madness of back to school

Goal: I'm a night owl, but I gotta start the "early to bed" because the "early to rise" is coming soon

I think I need the IP 12 step program -- I'm becoming addicted to you all! Haven't even had my mornin' smoothie and I'm on here checking out what's new in the IP world and what people are planning to eat so I get some inspiration for the day!
Rainbow's pizza crust is my mission for supper tonight. mmmm can't wait!

I'm glad I could pass it along!! My husband was diagnosed as a child, went through the "I've got a handle on it, I don't need help" phase, got re-diagnosed 5 years ago as an adult, and was kind of schlumping along before he saw the program last week. The book that goes along with it "ADD Stole My Car Keys" is available on Amazon and that's something we will both be reading. I have to say that even in the last week, the couple of coping techniques he zoned in on have made a HUGE difference in his functionality and his confidence!

Chloe - Happy, Happy Birthday to you !!!!!

Not much to report. I had peanut butter on an apple for my afternoon snack yesterday and lordy, it was good. I'm so glad that I don't have peanut allergies... Even though I get the Smucker's natural and pour off the oil on top, I'm sure I had my fat quota for 3 days. ;0 Not to worry though, as I use ff cream in my coffee, ff cheese in my salads and still use Walden Farms dressings. But, I'll make sure I get a good walk in today, and may drag out the bicycle too. I forget it's back there on the porch...

Have a lovely Friday and remember to celebrate yourself for making this courageous, life-affirming choice to improve your health !!!!

Margaret
Oh Margaret!! I cannot wait until I can have Peanut Butter again! I love that stuff. Thats probably part of the reason I am on this diet. LOL
Have a good day!

Good Morning Ipeeps!!

Hope everyone is having a great Friday so far!! TGIF is right!
We have my sons football game tonight. I am hoping the skeeters dont come out. He's a senior in high school so these games are very bittersweet.

This hurricane is not looking too good for us. I pray that whoever gets it (Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, louisiana or texas) stays safe and hopefully it wont cause significant damage.

Seems like it'll be a busy day today at work, so I better get to it.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!!
