I can relate to all of what has been said. For me, I was so heavy that this diet saved my life. The structure of it, even though it is not easy, gave me the time to really examine myself, why I ate, what I wanted for my life, etc. By the time I was done with Phase 1, I was in much better mental condition to figure out the future, than I would have been otherwise. I am in maintenance for 6 months now and so far, so good. I go up a few, I go down a few. My body was just a prison for me before. It sounds dramatic, but it's the truth. I will NEVER go back to that prison, and any time I find myself wanting that extra treat, I try to remember that.

The beauty is that you can still have those treats. You just have to really think first, and control it. I get the small lunch bags of chips when I'm craving them, whereas before I would have gotten a big bag and it would be gone in a day. So, you learn what things trigger you and what you can do to subvert that process. Your head definitely has to want it. You have to love yourself and life enough to say 'no.'

Good luck with your decision and keep coming back here! Lots of really supportive folks...

Thank you all for your insight...I absolutely agree with most of what was said and I've CHOSEN to change my mindset. This is a LIFESTYLE change for me, not just a diet. I'm not 'just' looking to lose the weight, I'm looking to change my life and the life of my children and get us all on a healthy was of living.

I've decided to try this program, as I do believe in a lot of the principals they are teaching.

I know that any 'diet' can be successful, it's my willingness to work the diet that wasn't successful.

But, as I said, I think the education and the self-discovery will help, along with the great coach (thanks S., J was great!) and I know I can be successful.

I appreciate all the help and hope that one day, I can inspire and motivate others to make the same choice.

What I love about this diet is the fact that you don't really have to think about anything. The thinking is done for you. No measuring... And if you don't like to exercise, you don't even have to bother with that either.

About phase 1... I hope that one day, I will be able to maintain without having to go back to phase 1 all the time.

And it's true that if you go back to your old ways, you will regain everything. Let's hope we can finally learn about what we can and can not put into our mouths!!!

She really is amazing. I promise she'll be a huge help in getting you where you need to be, physically and mentally!

Good luck to you. I have been playing around with the idea of IP myself, even went to an informational meeting. It's scary to me because I always find a way to sabotage my dieting. I start to lose weight and then get too confident and think I can start to eat a "small" piece of something. Hopefully, I will become mentally ready for this step soon. I need this life change. Good luck to you!
