I hope this is not a silly question, but can I make my omelette in the microwave? I usually do it at home on the stove like the instructions call for, but I get hungry mid morning so I thought about taking it to work and having it there since my coffee with a little IP "creamer" holds me over.
I do scrambled eggs in the microwave. I do them in a coffee mug. 2 eggs and 1 tbsp milk (can use water instead of milk). I put eggs and milk in coffee mug and just whip them up with a fork. Put in Microwave for about 1 minute. Delicious , light and fluffy. You could add a little, cheese or ham, if you like. I don't. I usually serve with a little salsa, very low calorie.
PS I am not on Ideal Protein so don't know if this method works for you.

Saute Veggies
Spray dish with Pam or a little oil
Add veggies
Mix omlette in shaker with spices if desired
Add eggs to bowl with veggies
Microwave for 2 minutes
Take out and move edges around
Put back in for 1 minute 40 seconds
I did do this - not sure thatyou need to cook it as long as it says, but the omlette came out well.
yes you can! they even have little plastic omelette makers (you can get at walmart or online) I have one and i like it and use it regularly! a tsp of water or spritz of oil, add veggies, cheese, etc and then eggs - click it shut and microwave
I'm not certain, but I believe the original poster is asking about the Ideal Protein omelet packet, and not real eggs. I would love to know this as well. I typically have one every day for lunch, cooked on the stove top with added veggies. But on the road, most hotels have microwaves and was wondering if this was do-able.

Good to hear. I have been using two different containers for years to poach eggs in the microwave, it works perfect. I forgot about the omelet version, I've seen them at Walmart many times.
Awesome! Thank you so much for the responses and the IP Omelette recipe! We use cast iron and they stick, so I am going to try this in a glass dish tomorrow.
I've cooked the IP omelette in the microwave at work a few times - it works, just fine, imo.
I use a bowl and stir it every 30 seconds. Otherwise, i've noticed:
1. it just balloons and expands.
2. the "inside" seems raw, whereas the "outside" gets rubbery.
I am having trouble with my IP omelet tasting like a sponge. I've increased the water, but it still hasn't been too successful. It seems like a great way to have a filling breakfast, I just am not sure what I am doing wrong!
Has anyone cooked their IP omelet the night before and then just reheated it in the microwave? Just wondering how any of the packets work when they are reheated...or if they end up nasty?? Thanks
