Maybe that is what I will do then. Split up my 4 cups of veggies. I am just SO used eating whatever and when ever! That is what got me into this mess!

It will pass! I promise!!! The first 4 days were the worst for me and then everything got much easier. Celery or cucumbers are probably the best veggies to turn to if you need to. GOOD LUCK!

A cup of hot tea will also work to help cure the hungries.

I asked my coach this after week 1 and she said in order to burn the fat you really shouldn't have anything in between the 4-5 hours from meal to meal. Unlimited lettuce is with lunch and dinner, not whenever you want. Week 1 was tough, I wanted to eat my arm but I promise, it will pass by next week.

ITA. Some clinics seem to have told their clientele that celery and cucumbers are freebies, along with the various types of lettuce. So some IP dieters treat them as 'free' and others count them towards their 4 cups veg/day. So if someone really needs something through the day, celery or cukes (or lettuce) is definitely the thing to use.

Yes, Spry gum, I ordered it online, the fruit flavor isn't great but the rest are awesome.;)

I always fine myself hungry around 4pm and I desperately want to wait for my snack until after dinner, but then I'm never hungry for it. I changed my thinking and have my snack around 4pm... it is working perfectly and I don't feel deprived at all.

The hunger will definitely subside the longer you're on the program, too... so don't worry about that!

This is EXACTLY what I had to do. I eat breakfast@8am, lunch@12pm, snack@4pm, dinner@8pm (we are a night owl family!), 2c hot tea@10pm curbs my late night snack urge. I also split my veggies for 1c@breakfast (spinach smoothie), 1c@lunch, 2c@dinner. I also add lettuce to my breakfast smoothie for extra bulk/filler (not really a salad person...or a spinach person, but I LOVE those spinach+lettuce smoothies, lol!!!).

I also have my snack in the afternoon. I could never go from noon until dinner, which for me is usually at 7:30 ish.

My coach said I could eat my veggies from lunch either a few hours before or after lunch - I do it all the time - worked so far. :)

Oh gosh.....you are all such amazing help! I will take each and everyones advice, and I am bound to win! I am now chewing on a very small nib of a sugar free piece of gum and I feel so special! LOL

That's not necessarily an "official" plan rule, but may be your coach's recommendation. I have often used a little lettuce, or used a cup of veggies as a between-meal-snack, and my weight loss has been impressive. That approach was recommended by my own coach. The fat burns because your body is in ketosis, not because you avoid eating between meals.

Hi, This is also my biggest issue. I get so hungry in between meals!!! why only lettuce? In my list there are as "unlimited" also cucumber, mushroom, and radish. Can't I have those anytime I want?

Hi Tee4Tee: perhaps you noticed the date of the last posting... the plan has changed a bit since then and those other raw veggies are allowed as unlimited since they won't do much to affect your weight loss and may help keep you from straying. My favorite unlimited was sliced cuke with a dash of soy sauce (or Bragg's Seasoning/tamari in my case as I need to be gluten free) with a big glug of either Frank's Chili & Lime hot sauce or Cholula hot sauce. As you can tell, my cravings lean to salty, savoury things and less to sweets. Raw mushrooms marinated in vinegar & spices for an hour in the fridge is pretty yummy too.

Thank you! I find this topic sooooo confusing!!! I will try the mushroom marinated in vinegar and spices... I too lean toward salty food... they are the best!
