Liz, I absolutely loved your margarita pudding! I tried to not eat the entire portion at lunch but gave in 2 hours later. I will be making this on a regular basis. Thank you so much!

I don't know how I missed this before. I am going to see if the 24 hour convenience store has knox gelatin after I get out of work!!!

1. In blender, add Lime Juice & Egg Whites only, sprinkle in Gelatin and allow it to dissolve in liquid ~1 minute.
2 Meanwhile, cut Cucumbers in half lengthwise, deseed with a spoon, rough chop and place in blender along with Zest, Eggs, and Sweetener.
3. Blend together until smooth, adjust taste accordingly.
4. Bake at 350 degrees ~30 minutes, until custart 'sets'.
4. Allow to cool and let it set in the fridge ~1 hour-overnight.

*This counts as your 8 oz protein + 2 cups veggies

+The new Phase 1 Sheet dated 6/12/2012 now lists 4 Eggs + 2 Egg Whites as an appropriate 8oz protein replacement, so adjust accordingly: http://www.idealtogo.com/Library/Fase%201%20-%20ITG.pdf

Hey Robin! Good to "see" you!

FYI folks, my ice cream machine BROKE!!! But, if you freeze puréed veggies & lime/lemon juice in ice cube trays and blend them with a rtd or pudding it will blend down to soft serve consistency! So yum! I am keeping a reserve of frozen purees for ice cream readiness!

Hi Liz.tried this a few times and I must be missing something..it's not that great and yet I love spinach and coffee. I tried it with the Dark Chocolate pudding and the Vanilla pudding as well. Added cinamon. What "legal" flavorings have you used? I'm in my 9th week, and our coach advised staying away from artificial sweetners due to their affect on the pancreas (Ideal Protein talked about this in their may newletter). Did it take you awhile to get used to the taste?

Just wanted to update folks..I've been adding fresh grated nutmeg along with the cinnamon and it made all the difference. Absolutely yummy!

Hey Liz, also wanted to ask if you have used turnips in any of your stuff for thickeners? I am Italian and I used to use turnips when i made my meat sauces just to add the filler and extra veggies so the kids didn't know :) They seem to be pretty bland and take on the flavor of whatever you cook them with. Just a thought :)

BTW, I did the copy/paste thing also! Hope thats ok! i LoVe trying new and different things!

I use my julienne peeler on an English cucumber to make cuke "noodles" - then I lightly sautee them in some oil and garlic, just for a minute or two until they are heated and slightly tender. You can toss them with IP asian or sesame ginger dressing, Liz's Thai pesto, or sometimes I make homemade teriyaki sauce with Braggs aminos, Walden Farm pancake syrup, ginger and garlic. They are YUMMY!

warmheart 10-22-2012 04:11 PM

Does anybody have these recipes in a pdf or word doc they would like to share? My computer at home is broken and I have to be quick on here cause I'm supposed to be working. Thanks!

Starshine 10-22-2012 04:36 PM

I just made the Braised Celery, Mushroom, & Garlic Puree to use as a gravy. I added fresh sage and rosemary to it, and it is wonderful. Thanks, Liz!

JoVo808 10-23-2012 02:57 AM

Omg, finally something I can incorporate the veggies into my day. I too was getting sick and tired of them and I'm only on my 2nd week. Will definitely try this one out. Thanks!

Minch 10-27-2012 07:47 AM

Bump! We have to make sure everyone sees this thread!! I just discovered it today. Thanks LizzRR!

Willi 10-27-2012 07:59 AM

Agreed Minch! Also, check out FinnSteven's recipes. He doesn't post here now but there are some great recipes. He is on Facebook and there is a link within his recipes.

Maile 10-27-2012 08:22 AM

More great recipes Lizr. Thanks.

Since reading this thread a couple of hours ago, I went out and purchased the Ninja Pulse at Canadian Tire. They're on for $49.99 from $79.99 for any Canucks out there who are interested.

I immediately came home and made the Spinach Mocha Latte from LizRR's recipe and it's AMAZING! (I'm enjoying it as I type this!)

Thanks so much for introducing me to this! I'm forever indebted!

Puree has made all the difference!

LizRR, thank you so much for this. I have made the cauliflower, celery, and garlic purée and a broccoli, celery, and garlic purée, and I am in love. I made everyone at work taste them, as they are so good to eat plain! One lady told her mom later on the phone about them (she doesn't eat veggies!) and she said it was so good she could drink it with a straw! I put the cauliflower one in the broccoli cheese soup, and I put both in the tomato basil soup. I absolutely love them! And the idea to roast the veggies instead of steam... I'll never steam another vegetable again! Thanks again!

OCanada 11-22-2012 03:08 PM

I read all 10 pages of posts this a.m. and promptly made some puree here too! I roasted cauliflower, celery,1 garlic clove and red bell peppers, sooooo fabulous. Thank you LizRR!!! Someone mentioned earlier a recipe book may be in your future, and I agree.

Happy Thanksgiving to you in the USA, enjoy your many blessings this day and always! It is snowing to beat the band at my house, so I will be singing, "it's beginning to look alot like Christmas!" lol

gazelle 11-24-2012 03:20 PM

I also am so thankful for this post! The purees add so much flavor and variety to this plan. They are so delicious!

IP Lasagna

Can't wait to try the lasagna. Thank you so much for posting all of this wonderful recipes.

I just started on IP and like most of the food so far, but can tell I'm going to seriously need to spice up the food for a better flavor.

Could you substitute frozen spinach for the fresh in your morning smoothie?

What could be added as a thickener to serve the purees as side dishes or even entrees, protein powder?

In regards to the purees, don't add as much chicken broth. I eat the cauliflower and garlic purée every day, but have adjusted it as a side dish. It's never the same consistency from day to day, because I don't measure anything. I add chicken broth as a splash or spill, depending on how I feel!

I'm not sure about the taste comparison on frozen vs fresh spinach. I would think you can taste the frozen more in a smoothie, but I'm not sure. Maybe you could test it and let us know! ;)

If you use an RTD instead if a packet, do you reduce the 2 cups of coffee in your smoothie?

I always use my 2 cups of java! Whether i add RTD or prepared mix, pudding, etc.

And i dont know about the frozen spinach, but i just read in Womens Running magazine the cover model made a similar smoothie using protein powder & frozen spinach, so its been done before, i just havent taste tested it myself.

amberjules 12-04-2012 03:07 PM

I made 3 of the purees on Sunday and used the Roasted Red Pepper Sauce for the lasagna which was AMAZING!!!! I didn't have mushrooms (used them all for the celery, garlic, mushroom puree) so I subed with spinach!

I also made the Roasted Red Pepper and Poblano Pepper puree and add it to my chicken noodle soup. I also didn't buy enough red peppers but had some brocolli so I used 1/2 red peppers and 1/2 brocolli for all of the red peppers. OMG....amazing when I added it to the soup. Smells so yummy!

I will be making this for life! Thank you Liz!!!
