Pure Protein at Trader Joe's

Oh my goodness! I think I finally found a match for the IP vanilla and chocolate ready to drink shakes:

Pure Protein
Serving Size: 1 can (11oz)
Calories: 160
Total Fat: 1g
Total Carbs: 2g
Protein: 35g!!!

And the cost is about $2 per can (versus almost $7 per IP carton).

Just had to share.

Yeah! They are opening up a Trader Joe's in Plano next month!

Awesome! I've seen pure protein bars at grocery stores, but I've never checked for shakes. I'm going to look.

Anyone know another source? I've seen PP at GNC and WalMart. Never saw shakes.

I also found them at Nutrition Smart or you can go to their website. I really like the Pure Protein shakes!! Flavors to choose from are chocolate, vanilla, banana, strawberry, and cookies & cream. Yum yum!

Would you consider these non-restricted or restricted? I dont use many alternative products and dont know what the numbers you look at to make that determination.

Do you look at Calories / Carbs / Protein and do you take any Fiber off the carbs when considering if its restricted or not?

Please let me know how what systems some of you use in determining when using alternative products.

Thanks!!

Saradise 08-14-2012 05:42 PM

I consider all the Pure Protein shakes non-restricted. Calories are 160-170, fat - 1, Carbs - 2-4, Protein 35. I just started this diet and I'm using all alternative products. No problems so far....4lbs lost in 3 days!

www.netrition.com has them (and the bars) and they charge a flat $4.95 shipping (US). I bought 36 cans. That's heavy and it was still $4.95. They also have chocolate mint beside the flavors mentioned above. Plus Netrition has Walden Farms, DaVinci and Torani syrups and lots of other stuff. Great place to shop.
