Regarding Egg Whites

  • When 2 egg whites are used during phase 1 do they count as the protein for the day or are egg whites a freebie of some sort? I only ask because Ive been seeing so many people talking about egg whites or using them in a recipe.

    Many IPeeps & coaches consider 2 egg whites a freebie. They do not count as the real protein meal for the day.

    My coach says the same...I seldom need it, but sometimes if Im gonna have a big day I will add to the omelet to bulk it up a bit. Also in the crispy cereal pancakes.

    But only once a day of course...
  • My coach actually recommended having them everyday. she said they are an excellent way of uping the protein with no fat or carbs. she concidered them freebies.
  • Yes, my coach allows 2/day MAX as a freebie. They add ~35 calories from ~8g protein - 0 carb/0 fat/0 sugar, which is allowable according to the 0/0/0 rule on the Phase 1 sheet.
