i HATE my THUNDER THiGHS

  • i love ip.....and am having very good success on ip...and have lost several sizes in dresses, skirts and tops since i began in may, but my THUNDER THIGHS just refuse to lose inches!!!!!!!!!! i have only lost 1 inch from each leg even though i have lost 75 pounds and over 13 inches from my tummy alone

i noticed that so many people who are larger around in the middle have small thighs and seem to fit into much smaller pants sizes...apple shape....but i am pear shaped and carry most of the weight in my thighs and rear end!!!

anyone else deal with MASSIVE THUNDER THIGHS??? and have any solutions??? i am so discouraged!!!!!
  • I feel you there. Have had big thighs my whole life, while my mom was one who was big in the torso but always had skinny legs. I was SO EXCITED that I lost 2" on my thigh at last weigh in, but even when I was VERY fit I didn't have thighs with that space between the knees and the pelvis.

Don't worry Rainbow...you may hate your thighs but I luv ur buns...
  • Me too- I have what I have always referred to as "country girl legs"- they've always been like tree trunks, even when I was smaller. Maybe if I get to my ideal weight, they wouldn't be so bad.
  • I also have thunder thighs. I figure my dad jinxed me when I was a kid. I ate a lot (gee, wonder why I'm fat) and he would always say I had a hollow leg. Yep, they ended up packed like chipmunk cheeks. LOL.

I am doubly jinxed with the adema condition in my legs. They will never be slender and both knees buldge as I've dropped a 625 lb motorcycle on one and slammed the other into the car dash when a GMC Sierra pickup pulled out in front of me when I was going just over 45 mph. Lymph races to injuries, but in my case, it swells up like a water balloon and never goes away.

As a child my legs rubbed together and I always wore out the insides of my pants.

I just figure I will have to wear pants many sizes larger than most at my weight. Oh well. I will be healthy, even if mis-shapen.

  • My problem area is my stomach. I'd be in at least 1 sz smaller pants if I could get them buttoned/snapped around my middle But growing up and all my adult life I too had "thunder thighs". Fortunately, I am losing a fair amount of fat there now.
  • I'm with you too Rainbow. I have a small waist so I buy pants big enough for my thighs and belts to keep them on my waist. It isn't just fat either because I've had liposuction on my upper thigh / hip. Since I know I don't have strong legs with big muscles, I don't know what they are stuffed with. At least I know I have lost some fat though-I now have weird skin wrinkles that look like elephant skin when I sit in the bath.

Enough depressing talk, I'm going back to staring at my shrinking waist in the mirror.
  • Oh heck ya I have big thighs, a big booty too! I've always had issues with pants.

But you know what, we're voluptuous even if we hate it. There's someone out there that loves it! :-)

With a name like Rainbowsmiles I'd be willing to bet that there is a lot more to you than "Thunder thighs". As for me I have had to make peace with my stomach!!!!!! I will say that I have a friend (over 50 ) that had the same problems and she started riding a bike. I have never seen anyone be able to conquer weight there but she did. I was amazed. It may be worth a try.
  • I Hate My Thunder Thighs......!!!!!!!!
  • I have always heard....first in/last out. Where you gain it the first, you will lose it the last! So, keep going, and our thighs (yep I'm right there with ya!) will have no choice but to shrink! :-)
