Soy Allergy

Hello Ladies,
I tried starting IP on monday only to discover that I'm allergic to soy. What can I do? I assume I can just eat actual protein foods instead of the packets or shakes, but not sure what amounts. I've also been looking into rice protein shakes but they only seem to have aroung 7g of protein. Is there any other alternative I can look into? Thanks for any help and suggestions!!!!!

ask you coach, she will show you the whey protein and other non-soy products available.

Hemp protein is great. Trader Joe's sells their own. I like Nutiva's hemp stuff. (I can't do dairy or soy.)

I don't have a coach, I'm doing it on my own. Is the hemp high in protein?
Thanks-April

The protein content can vary depending on brand -- how much fiber they've sifted out or if they've got other things in with it. But Nutiva's protein + fiber has 11g, and their high protein has 15g.

I just googled 'egg white protein powders' out of curiosity, and several websites came up. Here's one - http://www.swansonvitamins.com/CRL501/ItemDetail 20gm protein/serving.

No idea what it tastes like - but it might be an option for you.

I have allergies also. I couldn't drink the RTD IP Shakes they made my skin itch! The packets however I had no problems with.

There may be an IP link that lists all the IP products that are soy free. Does anyone have this list?

I have been doing Ideal Protein for more than 2 months now. I am allergic to soy and all nuts. I don't have a lot of choices, but I have lost over 20 pounds, and am continuing. Lots of high protein products contain soy! There are some good whey drink powers that are good and soy free. I but them at Walmart.
You can do it. Just think of the goals you have for yourself, and if food is boring, then take up a hobby or 2.
Hope this helps!

I found pea protein :p One drink has 103 cal, 3g carbs, and 25 g protein. I figured I would use this to replace the IP packets. It should be here in a few days. Excited to start!!!!!:carrot:
