Sleep

So I've been trying to get a good nights sleep every night to maintain my diet and keep things running smoothly. Last night I had friends over and they wouldn't leave until I finally had to kick them out at 1:30am. I try to avoid these situations because I don't want to give up all my social life just for this diet, but at the same time, I need my precious sleep so I can stay consistant. I woke up this morning having gained back a pound, and I can't believe it was from not getting enough sleep. Everything else I did during the day was exactly to IP protocol (other than forgetting to have my salt and olive oil for the day, but I don't think that would do it) so it must the lack of sleep.

Anyone else have this problem or experienced this before?

It's probably just water as you must have drunk more to make it that late. You will pee it all away today.

While studies show that not enough sleep can lead to weight gain or slow down weight loss, the studies are over long periods of time, not one bad night.

But there are plenty of anecdotal evidence that says weighing yourself every day and worrying about the ups and downs will make you crazy.

Think of your scale like strawberry wafers, something you only "have" once or twice a week. (Once is better).

Yep i agree...i weigh daily and often have a daily gain, but a weekly loss...

I gauge weighing like this...if you post every time you have a daily gain, you should be weighing weekly only haha. Just kidding, but honestly if you get distraught over it, weekly is better. A few of us dorks on here weigh daily, or twice daily and actually chart it. I have been fascinated by it and have looked for a pattern and in 6 weeks, no pattern. Follow the program and you will lose weight, but not daily...

As a follow up regarding sleep...I sleep 3-4 hrs a night only and have averaged a 5# per week loss over 6 weeks. I have slept like this since I was 16 and when im real busy its sometimes less so everybody is different. My wife cant function on less than 8 hrs.

In my case not getting the olive oil in slowed down my losses.

This is my fourth day and my sleep has been disrupted. When I sleep it's been nice and deep, but getting up 3 or 4 times to pee leaves me struggling to get back to sleep. I'm hoping it will even out. I feel a little sleep deprived and that always makes me want to eat.
I too am hyperfocused on my weight, because I've not been able to lose and I'm very hopeful that Ideal Protein is what I've been lookng for.
