It's a 10 lb cutie. We'll be getting him this week. I hope he can hang w/ the big dogs! We have a 175 lb mastiff and a 60 lb puppy.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your dog, but congrats on your rescue dog. We had two dogs, but our big guy died a few years ago, and with selling our home and moving out of state, it just never seemed like the right time to get another dog, so we've just had one dog since then. Two months ago we came across a small (8lb) rescue dog and he just broke our hearts he was so sad looking. So we decided that he just needed lots of love and good food and we brought him home. Our older dog is still not so sure she is crazy about sharing us with the new dog, but the new one is in heaven here and we are crazy about him.

I hear you on that one. I'm in my mid 50's and to walk around a department store and look at all of the regular size clothes knowing I can now finally fit into a lot of them is amazing. I still get some large size catalogs in the mail and knowing nothing in there will even fit me anymore is even more amazing! It's a whole new world.

Good morning everyone! Do I live in the only place it's not raining? Yes, another hot sunny day here in Austin. Please send the rain, we REALLY need it.

Time to get out of the city for the day. I think we are going on a hike today where there is a swimming hole. It gets about this time in the year here in TX and hiking has to be somewhere where there is water at the end of the hike.

Have a great day everyone and of course 100% OP.

We stopped and ate at a Golden Corral, I had lettuce, spinach, cherry tomato, green pepper, purple onion with oil and vinegar with a pork chop, steamed broccoli/cauliflower. I ate my food then got up from the table when the others were still eating. Watching them "stuff" themselves was making me gag so I went outside and got on the phone with my BOYFRIEND!!!....YES.....YOU READ THAT RIGHT I NOW HAVE A BOYFRIEND!!!!.....and I got approved for my foodstamps and unemployment, so things and looking good for me right now.....I am ONE happy chick a dee right now that is for sure. As I didn't know what 'meat' would be served (usually some kind of sausage) I pre-cooked 8 oz of chicken and brought that along too. So glad I did as the meat was pulled pork in some sort of heavy sauce, and all the salads were way off plan!! I had a look at the dessert table and just said to myself 'they'll all bring dessert next year too" and had my dill pickle zippers instead. The best part is I had a peek at the scale this morning and I'm at 199.... next wi on Saturday I should officially make it to Onedeland... can't wait

I also want to get out and try starting the couch to 5K program because I want to start jogging. It has been another wonderful 100% OP weekend and I am seeing more changes in how clothes fit. Last night I shopped my drawer and I am nicely into several of my size 13 pants. I haven't been in them for almost 5 years. I look forward to the day I get into size 8's....I haven't been there in just over 21 years. I was wearing size 7's before I got pregnant with my first son. Gained 44 lbs and then never got back to that size. (I finally understand why...my thyroid was a major contributor but so was my eating habits both pre pregnancy and post.) I hardly remember what it feels like to be that size other than to say at the time I thought I was fat. Isn't it amazing how our perspectives change over time. IP is such an exciting journey!

This week will be another 100% OP for by my DH and I. We are even speaking at our clinic on Wednesday night. Then on next Saturday at 3 in the morning I will be getting up and going to town to walk for 6 hours on my company's relay for life team. It is my tradition to go in and pick up the tail end of the walking so that those who walked through the night can go home and catch some sleep. I am excited about that because it will help me catch up on my 300 miles in 100 days for a work fitness event. The rain has really gotten in the way of getting in my 3 miles a day.

Have a great Sunday everyone! (((HUGS))) to you all.
You are awesome!! I love your energy and bug heart!!

Have a great Sunday everyone! It's raining here is Sask, so looks like its an inside day. Hopefully my kids don't drive me mad with being cooped up, they usually start fighting if they don't get outside! The floors need some attention so I guess its vacuuming and washing for me. And the laundry seems to asexually reproduce in the hamper. One sock becomes two, two socks become four. How can it get piled up so fast?? LOL! Have a great 100% OP day!!

You are worth it also, Longhorn; you're doing great!!

What kind of dog is the tiny one going to be? It will likely rule the bigger dogs. My littlest one weighs 7 lbs and she runs the household.

Congratulations on your behavior and your feeling great about your appearance and confidence at the wedding!! You are doing great!!
Thank you so much, you always have kind words and encouragement for everybody. Much appreciated! Your new profile pic looks fabulous.

Keep up the great work!

Default Ketosis question

Good morning everyone - I posted this on the daily also but wanted to get more opinions.....

Morning everyone - I have a question, I have been 100% OP but did go to a Chinese cafe and have some vegetables and tofu on Friday. I checked with my ketostix and was showing no ketones on Friday afternoon and yesterday morning, then it showed a small amount, then back to nothing last night and today. I don't usually use the ketostix on a regular basis, but I'm worried that there might have been something in the vegetables that might have knocked me out of ketosis....any advice or answers?

The times I burnt kale chips my oven was too hot, the kale was a bit too wet or I ripped the kale too small. I found the secret was lower heat and longer time in the oven. There are times that a few 'chips' aren't totally crispy, but that is ok. Since all ovens are different (I use electric ovens), it may take a few small batches to zero in on perfection - plus you can still eat the rejects.

I could also swing by and give you a hand - I am a cheap date so payment could be in zucchini chips. They are my other veggie addiction.

btw - is eating burnt kale chips bad???

Keep trying and post about your results. The group should be able to help you dial it in.
