How bad is a small cheat lol

I been doing the program on my own for a week and a half and have lost 7 pounds. I officially go see my coach tomorrow. But today my coworker surprised me with a grande skim latter and splenda. Is that a bad cheat or soso? Lol

My vote goes to soso ;)
i know a small treat can be good in small quantities otherwise you can break down and go overboard on treats and ruin the diet.

I have been very strict on myself :) This may b a once a month thing

The reason y it could be bad is one cheat could lead to more and more cheats

I'd say don't let it be a habit. I had actually justified one tortilla every other week to my DH when we went out to eat and I had a tortilla wrap full of veggies. Turns out that tortilla was 53g of carbs by its lonesome. DH informed me that "no, no tortillas for you until you are skinny!" lol, supportive he is.

Seriously though, be very careful and selective if you ever break down. Rather than get a latte, learn to make the cappuccino mix with coffee and your 1 oz of milk or use some splenda flavored coffee sweetener as a treat.

Its pretty early to already be cheating after 1 week, even though I would call it "so-so" they can all quickly add up. I got to 214+lb by a lot of little treats. The protocol is pretty clear (literally in black & white). You had a great first week, try not to make it harder on yourself so soon. Admittedly, there are worse things to cheat with, but it can just really start to spiral.

Skinny Vanilla Latte (Grande)
There are**120 calories**in a 16 fl oz serving of Starbucks Skinny Vanilla Latte (Grande).
*Fat:**0g
*Carbs:**19g (Fiber: 0g, Sugar 16)
*Protein:**12g

I am no expert, but I do wonder what 16g of sugar at once will do to a resting pancreas as far as triggering more cravings depending on what you've had today. If you haven't had a restricted yet I would go ahead and replace it with an unrestricted to try and keep that at bay. Be strong!

Have to be honest here- a cheat is a cheat. It's like being kind of pregnant, you are or you're not. Also as Liz said, one "little cheat" can add up. Just for info a better choice would have been a latte with full fat milk as it would have less carbs.

Thanks everyone for the replies :) it is too early lol. Haven't had anything restricted all week so hopefully my pancreas wont be too upset with me :-/ tomorrow I begin 100% with actual ip products :)

It was a regular grande skim latte with Splenda. No flavoring
130 calories
19 carb
13 protein

Please please please for the love of doughnuts dont cheat...EVER...why? Because....its diet suicide...

I said " just a little -----" and i de-railed from that point and it took me a long time to get back up off the ground from that...I also found when i re-started..that i cheated again and again and again.... This is my 4th time giving this diet a try and all i can say is...dont cheat...its not worth it...and thinking that you wont cheat again...is not a safety net...you never really know till you go down that road...

I don't think your cheat was that bad. If we all had so much will power we wouldn't need to lose weight in the first place. It's not like you went and got a super size meal at the drive thru.
Don't beat yourself up about it.

My recommendation to anyone would be to not cheat at all. To be 100% OP.
I was doing that until about 5 weeks ago, when one day I was particularly tired and feeling kind of draggy... I succumbed to eating extra protein bars. Now, in the overall scheme of things, that wasn't a 'bad' cheat. It didn't knock me out of ketosis, because combined with what else I'd eaten that day it worked out ok... also, I'm using alternative products, and these were a smaller 30gm very low net carb protein bar. So I was able to stay (somewhat) on track afterward.

But it opened the door somehow, and now the urge is more strongly with me to 'just this once' stray away from 100% OP again. I was fine before that day... now it's much harder. Especially with protein bars, as they satisfy my sweet tooth.

I've just made a decision this week that when I finish my current supply (only 7 remaining) of protein bars, I'm not getting more. It's too easy to give in the temptation to eat 'just another one' and sabotage myself.

Anyone know how bad margarine is? :/ I've been 100% OP for 9 weeks and am visiting my sister (packets and all:)) and we went to her friends house for dinner. Everything seemed to be okay, until I realized there was margarine on the veggies!!:/ it wasn't a lot, but it was there. I looked up country crock ( saw it on her counter) and it doesn't have any carbs, but I'm still a bit nervous and don't have any ketosis stick thingys with me...... Yarg

Well...its not on the plan for a reason, and I know that doesnt answer your question, but seriously, any minor damage is done, Im sure it didnt kick you out of ketosis, but I dont understand why people stress over it or even buy the sticks...even if you 'knew' you were out of ketosis, all you can do to get back into it is to continue following the plan...so, my answer is simple, carry on and follow the plan, all will be fine.

And...dont do it again LOL (kidding)

Ya, moving on seems like the best advice. Thank you Longhorn Energy for responding. It's hard being away and out of my comfort zone, with no scale for a week and I guess those stick things would help give me a little peace of mind:) But, I have moved on!!!:) thanks again!
