Default Best Way to Measure Veggies??

Hi Everyone,
I'm wondering what's the best way to measure veggies - measuring cup or scale. I have both and I have been using my scale except for the leafy greens I use a measuring cup. I just started eating cucumbers and I realized that sliced it came out to be 4oz (1/2 cup), but the same 4oz fit perfectly into a cup measuring cup. So which is it - 1/2 cup or 1 cup serving? Just don't want to over or under eat my veggies! THANKS!

Veggies are to be meausred in a cup, not on the scales. 4 cups total daily.

You are comparing apples to oranges, fluid ounces (8oz = 1 cup) are not the same as weight ounces. Measure your veggies in a measuring cup, not a scale.

Default veggies by weight

I have been weighing my veggies for the most part, but I don't just universally apply the 8 oz= a cup to every veggie. A while ago someone posted a list of veggies by weight so I have been going by that. For example: a "cup" of broccoli= 91 grams, a "cup" of Cauliflower=133 grams, and so on. I have found that the amounts are fairly similar as when I would put things in a cup, however it is difficult to measure an actual cup of vegetables most of the time unless they are chopped up into smaller pieces. I like weighing them out and it makes me feel more accurate.

Thanks everyone for your great feedback!! That helps alot. The only thing I started thinking was that a cup of whole mushrooms is a way different amount of a cup of chopped mushrooms...But Molly kind of answered that for me. I know I'm getting kind of detailed here and not sure if too much or too little veggies makes a difference, but just don't want to be sabatoging myself and not knowing it

Oh no! I've been measuring all my veggies on a scale! I guess I've been eating way too much! It did seem like an awful lot! I was really having a hard time!
