Welcome aboard! The headaches should go away soon. Mine lasted a week. Are you using your sea salt and drinking enough water?

I went to the bar and asked for a bottle of water, the bartender looked at me kinda crazy and said ummmm ok here ya go. My friend, who is OP, asked for a vodka and pineapple juice, I looked at her with a pair of eyes and she said "what its FREE"....I said just because its FREE doesn't mean you have to have it. She said you are right but got the drink anyways....lol...I sat and people watched, drinking my water while she drank her drinks. Needless to say I am happy with my choices of 6 bottles of water to her 6 drinks.....lol..So next week when we weigh in I will lose my 1lb and we will see what she will lose.....lol
Thanks funny. Sad but true there are so many people who feel that just because its free they have to have it. Those are the same people who laugh now and cry later. Way to go.

Its hard dealing with multiple people bceause they dont do things the same. I have been eating imitation crab meat since I started the plan on and off my coach never said anything but this lady had an issue with it. She was like you are not knocking it out but you are doing well. I kinda gave her a side ways look. Then she was had a issue with my goal said I need to lower it. I told her I will lower it as I see fit right now this is where it will be because Im not walking around looking like a sick person from losing too much. We are not all built the same. Needless to say I didnt get the warm and fuzzies from her. But I didnt let her steal my joy. Im doing well been losing and thats all that matters.

Have a good OP day and thanks for listening as always.

Glad you have a good atitude about it anyway! It must have been something going around yesterday - I had a different coach yesterday and I was not feeling the love. She commented on my 2 pound loss being on the low side and for me that is good. I haven't been able to consistently lose weight in years so as long as the scale moves I am a happy camper. Hoping I do not get her again next week.

My name is Shawna, I am a mother to 4 (ages 21, 15, 12, 10). Four years ago we moved for me to start grad school, then we moved again last year when I was done. In the past, I've been fairly healthy and active and these last 4-5 years I've really had to work at keeping weight off (I don't always succeed). Two years ago I did P90X and followed the nutrition program, and lost 20+ lbs. Last Monday I was back where I started weight wise two years ago . I hadn't been working out due to lack of space (excuses, excuses) and just the fact that I feel unmotivated when I see myself in the mirror. It gets so depressing to have to go buy new clothes because they are too tight. I saw co-workers having great success with IP so I decided to try it. I have never done any type of program such as WW or this, so its very new to me. So far, my husband has been very supportive.

I am currently on day 7 of the Ideal Protein program. I did a bit of high protein, low carb and gave up soda 4 days before that. I have my first WI this afternoon. I'd love to see big numbers but I don't think I will (I've watched my scale at home-I know its a no-no). Some of my clothes are already less tight, especially across my belly. So that's promising. Ideally (pun intended), I'd like to lose 30lbs in the next 9 weeks. I know that may be too lofty of a goal, but hey... its a goal. We leave for vacation that day.

Giving up soda has been hard, but not as bad as I thought. I've enjoyed the packets for the most part and have some that I really like and some I probably wont get again. I don't feel like I have experienced any of the side effects listed (good for me). It is hard to get all those veggies in, but I think I have succeeded. My only sip ups this week were 1 drink of milk at a dinner where my kids had set the table and I honestly just forgot, cough drops and gum. I do flavor 1/2 of my water with crystal lite.

I do have a few questions though.

1. My coach lets me have one restricted thing a day, I read on here that many do not at first, why is that? Should I not be having them? I could probably get buy without.I have had a restricted since day one, and I have been on the program for 13 months. The program was designed to have this restricted daily so I don't understand why some coaches say not to have it.

2. I tried turnip fries and they were completely soggy, are they supposed to be crisp? Maybe I just didn't cook them long enough. They weren't terrible though, esp with a little WF BBQ sauce. They do not become crispy, I season mine before I bake them, to me they are like homemade fries.

3. Are there any cough drops that don't have sugar or sugar alcohols that anyone knows about off the top of their head? (I'll search but thought I'd ask too)There are some sugarfree cough drops out there. If you need them use them just use them in moderation

4. I have the same question about gum. The gum I usually chew has Aspartame and I read on here that we should avoid that. Why is that? Gum helps me from putting stuff in my mouth (i.e. food). Are there any out there that do not have Aspartame in it.
I have chewed gum since say one as well. I am like you, keeps me from putting unwanted stuff in my mouth. I have 2-3 slices a day, I chew the Extra polar ice.

5. I have friends doing the 17 day diet (some having good results). I feel cheated as they get fruits and dairy but only b4 2pm. Has anyone had experience with both to know the difference in results?
We can't have those kinds of food YET but we will have them later starting in Phase 3. These things will all be reintroduced to you at a later time.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to getting to know many of you. I feel like I already do since I've been lurking for so long

See now I am feeling the love That is exactly what I was thinking ... for years that scale hasn't moved a pound. It is moving. I am happy so to her.

And on a side ... and competely unrelated ... note my 10 year old asked me if she could bring kale chips to school for snack today. Lol. Wonder what her teacher thought of that? You probably don't get too many fourth graders bringing leafy green veggies for snack!!

Thanks for the answers to my questions, I can't argue with your success (it is so inspiring) so I will continue with my 1 restricted a day and continue with my gum (it beats the other option) and will try to find some sugar free cough drops. This week all of the sudden my cough is killer. And thanks for showing me the "wuv" I will definately stop lurking!

You will be amazed how open she will be to many veggies, let her try them out.

you are welcome, sometimes you just have to find what words for you, for example the gum.

I have to ask, did you weigh in wearing skivvies???? Seriously though, congratulations! You should be so proud of what you've accomplished, and motivated to see what more you can do.

I'm considering starting yoga, Zumba around here is at 5:30AM and I'm just not that motivated to go in that flipping early to dance.

I'd say ask a doctor, who is the bone specialist? Ummm Osteo...um..dangit...Osteopathologist if it's related to the bones. I don't see how exercise would irritate it more, but maybe instead of high intensity something low, like water walking or yoga etc.?

Oh sweety, I'm so sorry your step-father passed My grandfather turns 91 in June, only a little over a week away actually, and recently had a pace maker put in. The surgery ended him in the hospital and then physical therapy for over a month to regain strength in his arm. He is still all mentally there though, which is a blessing. It's hard to see sometimes he gets very angry and bitter (had a stroke a few years back and now swears and such, very different from him normally) and it's hard to bring him back from that ledge (all his generation, siblings, wife, cousins as well as some of his children have passed away).

You have to "insert" picture like you would in a post, ends up using HTML coding to insert it, and it'd be something like [I MG]/blahblahblahwww.findphoto.com[/IM G] looking in the end

I remember rhubarb as a kid, it was so tart, but good. I have a couple plants in my back yard. I can't wait to try the rhubarb crumble that someone posted in the recipes, sort of a treat.

Don't let that get to you, NO 2 scales weigh the same. My clinic one says 246lbs, my Dr's says 240, my home one says 232......I know mine stays in one place the clinic one is always in a different place. So I guess I weigh between 246 and 232....lol....which ever weight it is I am happy with it as long as it goes down and my clothes are fitting looser it doesn't matter what that darn scale says!
I was scared until I looked for my "weigh in shorts" and could not find them. I grabbed a pair of shorts that I could not button no to long ago. I pulled them on and did up my belt, the belt needs two new holes, I will ask for 4 and the pants were loose. Thankfully I had my handy suspenders to hold my drawers up!
