On The Road Again, Exactly!

I had a few NSV's today. I had a parade detail and was on my feet straight for just about two hours. I am a little sore but it's nothing compared to what I would have felt like 3 months ago. I also had a handful of people come up to me with very nice things to say, which was also wonderful. Stopping in the office now to have a late lunch, Proto Thin Maple Oatmeal and an IP blueberry Cran-Granata Drink Mix. It is supposed to help with skin tone and I am going to need all the help with that I can get.

I had my first, and second d muscle milk lite today. I brought chow with me but left .y back pack in the truck while the family and I did a walking tour around Salem, MA including the Salem Witch Museum. Very fun. I had the chocolate around lunch and a vanilla about an hour ago. Very good stuff and 9 carbs.

Finally back from a 2 week vacation. 3500 miles and 7 states in 2 weeks was fun and of course DW plans a trip to Disney World during Tropical Storm Debbie but we actually had a pretty good time.

Glad to see all the losses. You guys are killing it. It’s going to take me a few days just to get caught up on what’s happened the last 2 weeks. I was not allowed to take a computer with me on vacation (bosses orders) and looks like I missed a lot.

Hi Gentlemen,

This is my first post on this thread. My wife and I have been in the program for 15 weeks and we are both down 45 pounds! Over the years I had tried Atkins and South Beach with moderate success on both but I was unable to keep the weight off. Had some higher motivation this time as I had to go on blood pressure medicine last fall and this really annoyed me. I'm happy to say that the doctor has taken me completely off the blood pressure medicine and since my cholesterol had dropped to 103 he had me stop taking Lipitor also. This makes me drug-free for the first time in years.

I'm approaching the time when I move out of phase 1 and like a lot of other people I've read about in the other forums I am a little concerned about it. Sort of like giving up your security blanket. I came across the book the other day called Diet 101: The Truth about Low-Carb Diets, I read it and was very impressed with the author and her research. She does a lot of focus on blood sugar as it relates to health and weight loss which seem to make a lot of sense. I wonder if anyone else has read this?

One of the items that I was particularly impressed with was that she had contacted a significant number of people who had been on low carbohydrate diets and maintained their weight for over three years successfully. While she does not discuss the ideal protein diet specifically the comments from people who had successfully maintained for at least three years seemed to be following strategies that seem similar to phase 4.

Wow it’s great to see all the new guy’s on the IP forum. The big losses and the NSV’s are encouraging.

Last night had WI after 2 weeks of vacation and lost 2lbs. which was a surprise. I thought I had gained for sure because I know the Pizza and wings I had at Disney were not IP.

NSV: The jeans I have been wearing are size 42 and were a little baggy so I needed a new pair. DW tried to get me to buy a size 36 because they buttoned but I told her I had to be able to breathe. I just bought the 42’s a month ago so I ended up buying a pair of 38’s and 36’s.

I’m ridding my Harley till my backside hurts this weekend.

I'm here! NSV has started to happen for me. A few people have asked if I have been loosing weight. They say they can tell in my face. Makes me feel really good about all this.

4th of July was pretty easy for me. I just stayed away from all the BBQs and we did our own thing.

First two weeks OP were pretty rough, trying to figure out which IP foods I like. I believe I've gotten a pretty good basic supply of food now. AND, I found a grocery store that sold tons of different Walden Farms stuff. I hate paying $3.99 for a bottle of stuff, getting home and realizing that it taste like crap. But, one out of 5 isn't bad. I was cooking lean burgers with the WF BBQ sauce last night. Was going great until I decided to saute some mushrooms and put them in extra BBQ sauce. I grabbed my bottle of chocolate sauce by mistake. WOW, talk about gross, BBQ and Chocolate sure don't go well together.
