Sounds like this is a good focus for your energies --- thank you!
Actually I am a supernerd when it comes to using the software I have available, and in this case, it's just Microsoft Word. You can now Save As PDF which is what I'll be doing, unfortunately from my Mac the bookmarks don't save. So I'll have to create all the content on my Mac at home, then bring the file to work, bookmark all the stuff (so you can click the table of contents to get where you want to be) and save it out as a PDF.

I use MS Word, Paint, Photobucket and Excel to create all the stuff that I do, because I'm cheap but full of ingenuity

Kaypix- the book looks awesome!

You may have already thought of this but I think it would be really useful to have an index sorted by IP products linking back to recipes using them as ingredients.

For example, if I have tomato basil soup on hand, I can look it up in the index and find all the recipees that use it.

This is one of my pet peeves with the IP book I purchased at my clinic.

Kara, thank you for doing this! It's a huge undertaking, but it will be so helpful to all of us. I'm sure you've thought of this too, but saying whether each recipe is appropriate or P1 or not will be helpful to newbies.

Default Recipe Book Update

Hey all, working on the recipe book from work today, holy crap I forgot how many recipes there were, and getting them bookmarked is a B****! LoL But enough about me. I need opinions, how "important" is it that these recipes are alphabetized? At this point they are simply divided up by category and then meat product vs vegetable as the main, then appetizers, side dishes, salads, soups, sauces, desserts/snacks, breads/muffins and "fun with packets".

If ya'll want them alphabetized, now is the time to say it, cuz it's getting LOOONG and I don't wanna have to re-do this mo-fo later

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Kaypix, Thanks so much for doing this! It's really a big undertaking and it will be so helpful for all of us.

For your index: If you keep track of all of the recipes on an Excel page, you can alphabetize quickly and also sort quickly according to category and IP packet. Just a thought.... Also it's probably easier to do this early in the process.

The indexes (indices?) that you have at the end will make it really easy for people to find the recipe they need.

Thanks!

I have a table of contents, here it is at this point:
intro
appetizers
*salads
*salad dressings
*sauces/rubs/marinades
*soups
Entrees
*beef
*chicken
*fish
**flounder
**halibut
**mahi mahi
**tilapia
**tuna
*pork
*turkey
*shellfish
*vegetable
Side Dishes
Desserts/Snacks
*breads/muffins
*cookies
*ice creams / frozen treats
Fun with Packets / Misc

I'll throw in an index at the very end when it's all said and done, I do'nt know what the number is, but I think it's something like 1200 recipes or some freakish number lol!
