Hi,

I was pretty proud of my frozen treats, although I'm sure you all have tricks up your sleeve...and I'm only just getting excited about things you already know. BUT THIS was awesome...so I thought I'd share :D |
What's in it? My little guy and I made Greek yogurt smoothies with blueberries and strawberries and froze them as Popsicles. We added whole berries. They enjoyed them a lot and a healthy snack!!

Phew! Finished reading through the last month of posts. In early May I finished an 8 week challenge I was doing with some friends (points for weight loss, excercise, food tracking, etc). The last day of the challenge was my birthday which kicked off a free 4 day weekend. Then I went to my hometown for 3 days for my dad's 80th. It was all downhill from there. I started snacking and couldn't stop. Up until 5 pm each day, I had no problem eating P2. But then I snacked and snacked. My weight shot up and my loose pants were no longer loose (that being said, it's nice that my fat pants are size 8). So I started P1 yesterday. True P1, strictly IP products. My thought is to do 2 weeks each of P1, P2 and P3, but I'll have to see where I am after 2 weeks of P1.
Reqding all your posts makes me feel not so alone and not so crazy. Many of your thoughts, struggles and realizations resonated with me. It's no coincidence that I fell off the wagon at the same time I stopped tracking regularly and keeping up with the maintainer posts. This post grabbed me... Quote:

Yum...Ishbel
Great article...bigpassport "We think the low-carb and low-glycemic index diets, by not causing the surge and crash in blood sugar, don't trigger the starvation response. When the body thinks it's starving, it turns down metabolism to conserve energy," he says. I know it is easiest to eat Mediterranean when we go out because I find a lot more choices of things I can eat. They flavor in a way so the food is not bland but there are not really hidden ingredients that can cause trouble. |
Ishbel: That picture looks wonderful and yummy. I love breakfast also!!!!
Mompattie: We have locally grown blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. I love eating them. Purple Sky: I liked that quote also!!! Lee: I liked reading that article. It is reassuring to read that low carb low glycemic eating works well. I agree with you..maintenance is a personal plan and involves much trial and error. But knowing that p1 is there and p1 does work as we have all lost weight on it, is the key safety factor. Momto2cs: sorry to hear about the bugs. Boy you got in a lot of exercise with the golf and workout. It is nice to hear about your husband doing well on IP. Mine will not get near it. Crash302: What an impressive weight loss. That is wonderful. Everyone here seems to find their own way to maintain. I suggest sticking to the guidelines of Phase2, then 3 then 4. For me I am continuing to eat in much the same way I did as when I was losing except adding low carb fruits and starches in limited doses. I also keep up my exercise. It is a beautiful sunny day here. Off to exercise! |
Sorry you are back lee, but good to get things back under control.
Remember-it's almost bikini season ;) |
has anyone here tried bodypump?
|
I love body pump! I do it whenever I am in Calgary as we don't have it here.
Excellent work out |
Did anyone else catch the article on Good Morning America this morning? It was a study of people who maintained weight loss, saying studies show a low glycemic diet is the most effective. To me, it sounds like what most of us are doing after IP.

Hi IP family
I didnt mean to fall off the planet although sometimes I do wander off. My father in law passed away and DH and I had to get to France within hours. Needless to say..besides my vitamins and a box of atkins bars Im pretty much wingin it till I get home on monday and there are so many matters at hand for the moment. So...in addition to wine, cheese and cream sauce...Im walking a ton, drinking lots of water and saying non, merci to almost all desserrs. Found stevia for my expresso and forgiving myself for all the baguette im eating with the family. I think it will all even out while I'm here and I can do some damage control when I return. See you soon SUNNYMAE |
sunnymae - Sorry to hear about your loss. Accompanied with worldwind travel, that cannot be easy. Hang in there. I hope your family is okay or as best as they can be considering.
And if you need it, Google Translate can be pretty helpful. You can even make it speak. s'il tu veux ou si vous voulez Ishbel - What app do you use? I have an android phone but there are some recipes I am hesitant to tackle because I have no idea how much fat or carbs are in them. |
