Day 5 of the cleanse for me although I have been taking 2 of the Novi-Lax for 28 days. The Novi-Lax is just Psyllium Seed Husk, Aloe Vera and Prune Powder, so there's nothing strange in that. I really have not noticed any difference except the scale is FINALLY moving down. It does seem to make it easier to "go", and I will continue to take this while on IP. No stomach aches, although I would suggest easing up the dose as needed on the Lax part. I will let you all know as things progress.

Sounds good. I've actually been taking the Novi-Lax for a few weeks now as it's the only thing that will make me "go"... Is this for phase 1 only? I'm going to be moving to p2 in 2 1/2 weeks and phase out soon for a family vacation and was wondering if it would be ok to do in phase 2 as well.

I just finished day 23 of the cleanse yesterday. My experience was good. I learned a few things while doing it.
The first weigh - in after starting the cleanse, will mostly likely suck. I lost 1 lb my first week of the cleanse. After that, I normalized again. 4 lbs, 4.4 lbs, 3.2, lbs. I was also very bloated the first week and lost only .2 inches..
The second thing I learned is, if you are on any type of medication (I'm on antidepressants) remember not to take the Novi-lax within 2 hrs of those medications. The Novi-lax will flush the meds through your system, and you will pee them out.
I feel really fat today for some reason. I will let you know how my post cleanse weigh-in goes.

I've been thinking of doing the cleanse but i already take 4 floraxax and 2 novilax a day to be able to go (and still doesn't always work). Will the cleanse do anything more?

I was taking 2 novilax (one at lunch and one at dinner) prior to the cleanse.
I am on Day 5. I think it is helping that a little. The cascara sagrada in the Novi-Pur is likely the helpful ingredient (it is a laxative from tree bark).

Everyone is different with the novilax. I tried 2 in the morning and 2 at dinner and that was way too effective.

I also started taking the enzymes, one at lunch and one at dinner, before the cleanse. The combo of the novilax and the enzymes was the right kind of effective. With the cleanse, I am taking the 2 novilax at bedtime, per the directions, and it is getting better each day so far.

TMI, I'm sure.

I would check with your coach, but mine said I could be on it thru the end. Since phase 2 is just a swap of meat/packet, I wouldn't see a problem.

I'm also considering this as my losses have been low for a while now. Let me know. It's $67 at my clinic so i'd appreciate some feedback before purchasing.
Have you had any stomache aches? Stomach cramps? Having a lot of BMs?

On day 3 of my cleanse, today I'm having some grumbling cramps but nothing major, and yes, I had the biggest "BM", that I haven't had for a long time, I must of been full of it ;) But not running to the br every five minutes like I was warned of.

Not weighing myself at home, going to wait till next Monday for WI #5 at the clinic.

I also started a 30 day cleansing system this week. I'm using alternatives, so I went with another cleansing product that was recommended by my naturopath. I had googled the ingredients listing for IP's Novi-Cleanse and we compared ingredients, etc.... I feel confident this will be fine. All is going well, and I feel 'cleansed'. Definitely more 'thorough' BSs as you described. :) While I've never had any problems with constipation while on this program, it obviously produced results.

I had candida when I started IP, and was taking a couple of products to kill that off for the first couple of weeks, in combination with the strict low carb eating plan. I had to eat low-carb & low-sugar to knock out the candida, and thought this would be a good way to address both the candida and the weight issues at the same time.In fact, the naturopath noted that some of my past problems with cravings and difficulty in losing weight were probably related to having candida. I wanted to 'cleanse' in order to ensure that any leftover candida is thoroughly flushed out of me before I begin supplementing with priobiotics. I've got a type of priobiotic that was specifically recommended as being helpful for killing/controlling yeast in the system. I may also consider a colonic at some future date. I've had them in the past and got a terrific surge of energy and well-being from it. But I'll make a decision about that later.

As somebody else said, you do have to ensure that you don't take either the am or pm cleansing program capsules around the same time as other meds, or too close to meals.

Today was WI #5 for me.... -1.8lbs. That's running par for what's been happening with my weight loss for the past three weeks. While I'd love to see it higher, I'm ok with it. But it will be interesting to see if those weekly #s improve during the next month while I'm also cleansing my system. :)

Novi Cleanse Update: Wednesday, 5/1 was day 20 of the 23 day cleanse.
Started the cleanse on 4/13.
On 4/11, I was down 1.6 from the previous week.
On 4/18, I was down 0.6
On 4/25, I was down 2.2
On 5/01, I was down 1.0
My coach said today that it is common during the cleanse for weight loss to slow down (to compare, the previous four weeks were 2, 0, 2.6, 2.4) and for there to be the feeling of water retention or even actual water retention (I'm feeling that for sure but it doesn't show up on the body composition analysis). I swear water is moving around and filling up some places that looked flatter previously, and that started happening before the cleanse. It's kind of interesting because I honestly didn't think the cleanse would do much.

There is supposed to be a good loss once it is completed, so I'll report back next week...

Just looking to see how you are liking this cleanse. My coach is kinda pushing it on me and I really dont know how I feel about dishing out $80 more dollars this week to do it. Is it something that everyone should do at one point or another on this diet? Help me make a decision! lol:grouphug:

As I said in my post, I'm using alternative products throughout this whole process - I was only on 'IP Proper' products for 1 week! Decided to switch when I saw that it could be done effectively with alternatives, as I could see I was going to run into financial restraints.

As with so many things, different coaches seem to have different pov about the cleanse (at least according to what I've read here)... some seem to 'push it' while others seem quite indifferent.

My decision to do my 'alternate' cleanse stems a lot from my candida problem. I'm not sure I'd have done it otherwise. But I don't think it can hurt anything either. But $80 is $80...... I hear you on that. I only started the cleanse on Monday, so it's really too early to know how it's going to affect me weight-wise. (My weight loss has been slow imvho.. I keep wondering if it's because of my age - 61 and in menopause). My official IP coach for the first week also started me on 4 packet/week + 'real meal' at dinner, rather than 3 packets + 'real meal at dinner' as most of the posters here are doing. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I feel like I've gotten 'in the routine' of this, but I'm still trying to figure out a few things myself about what is best to do. I just try to follow the protocol 100% and muddle through - LOL. :D I'm wondering about moving down and seeing how I feel on just 3 packs/day rather than 4, and whether that would improve my weight loss without making me feel too 'draggy'. I'm pondering this..... LOL. My best suggestion? Read what I and others have to say about how things go with our cleanses over the next few weeks (ProteinGal just started the Novi-Cleanse cleanse on Monday so she'll have another 2 weeks on it)... discuss it more with your coach, and make the most informed decision you can. I think that's really the best each of us can do.

For those of you wanting to do this cleanse, buyproteinfood.com has it for $59. Free shipping in the U.S.

I bought the novi cleanse back at week 4. I did start it, but only lasted 2 days (on hindsight I think I may have had a tummy bug). This morning at WI I am up 1.5 lbs and have been 100% OP all week. Therefore I've decided to try the cleanse again starting today and see if that will help get things 'moving' again..... I'll let you know how I get on this time around....

IPdivajen 05-05-2012 08:11 PM

I've been on it for two weeks now and I think it's been a good help. Before the cleanse I had my lowest weeks - 3.6 per week for two weeks (I know -that's still good, just sayin'). The two weeks while I've been on it have been 5 and 5.6 respectively.

Whether one has anything to do with the other I have no clue. But for me, so far so good!

ProteinGal 05-07-2012 12:44 PM

One week on the cleanse, today was my weigh in, lost -2.6 pounds and 2.5". Wanted more, but I am happy still with that. In the last two days, my stomach feels like a football, very bloated and making some weird noises, although I lost an inch in the stomach area, hmmm go figure. My coach says it may because of the detox, will see how next week's wi goes.

I feel like I need to let go off some major gas :bomb: but nothing happens. Going to the br on a regular basis though. (I know, tmi ;)
