Thanks for this information. I felt a little overwhelmed with all the information the coaches threw at me in the first visit. The clinic I go to has a few different people working so my second visit was with someone new. Guess it's something I have to get used to!! Anyway, they never really explained Ketosis, so this information was a great find!!

I'm finding I'm getting more of my answers here. I really do have multiple coaches spurring me on... so thanks everyone!

This is a GREAT post. I was wondering what brand Ketosis strips people use?

Don't waste your money on strips. They have variable effectiveness due to the amt of water we drink. Plus, in a very short time on IP, we start burning the ketones, rather than excreting them in urine, so the strips register negative when we are IN ketosis.

Rather, rely on your body's own signals that you are in ketosis.

Lisa - what are the signs you are in ketosis? I'm sure I am since I've been OP for 2 weeks. But how do you know? I lost a lot my first week, but already feel like I stalled a lot this week.

I'm type one diabetic. I don't think you can. I'm sure the strips wouldn't work for me if I think about it that way.

Super excited to find this information and its so clear! This has been one of my biggest questions so far as I am just starting out. Feeling very hungry still at times but also with the huge increase in water intake... feeling a little sick/full. Nice to know what to look for next and that all this is normal. Amazing what our bodies will do!

This thread is super helpful at explaining what is going on. So much better than what was provided by my coach. I'm pleased that it's been a week and a half and I've been 100% all the way. This program is too expensive and it takes too long to get back in Ketosis for me to want to cheat. Luckily those cravings have disappeared as well!

Both last night and tonight I can hear and feel my stomach gurrgling for more food, but ive been op. Am I not.in ketosis? I felt the need to utilize the first weeks extra packet, but still starving

If you are OP you are in ketosis. It doesn't always guarantee you will never feel extra hungry.

Try eating your unlimited lettuce, some pickles, a hard-boiled egg or egg whites or the extra packet if absolutely necessary.

Stomachs also gurgle when digesting!

Try drinking hot decaf herbal tea. Hot drinks help curb the hunger feeling.
