Here is a recipe posted by someone recently (think it might have been Rissimo but am not sure). Want to extend thanks to this person - whomever it was.
It was written on this website and hence is in the first person: JELL-O
"I experimented with a sugar-free jello powder tonight... I will avoid aspartame in the future by trying the Kool-Aid + clear gelatin option next. But I liked the results when I added between 2-4 egg whites to the gelled jello (just pour it on top) and whipped the whole thing up thoroughly with my immersion blender. It creates a very airy, light texture that is more like a jelled mousse. And I added plain protein powder as well and whipped that in. The stuff I have is non-flavored and I bought it in bulk a while back. I know that 2 tbps provides about 24 g protein. So with the egg whites the whole dish had about 27-31 g protein. It's so light that I ate two servings... which gives me about the right amount of protein. It's best to refrigerate the whipped concoction for a while before sampling it, so that it's completely re-gelled again. 15 minutes in the freezer did the trick and resulted in an airy mousse-like texture. I found it quite tasty and look forward to trying it with the Kool-Air + clear gelatin option.
I did two packets of the knox (it comes with 4) and 2 scoops of protein powder and then Mio to flavor."

It was me experimenting with the no-sugar jello powder + egg whites + protein powder. I've whipped that up a few times now... I enjoy that light, mousse texture and it provides a lot of 'mouth satisfaction'. I believe mamacitaof2 is the person quoted at the bottom... she's been experimenting with Knox jello and MIO flavors. I'd like to get away from the asparatame in the non-sugar jello powders though... and on my last trip to the supermarket (at least to the one I was at) I could only find Koolaid with asparatame. Does anybody know if there is in fact no-sugar Kool-aid that is sweetened with a preferable sugar substitute?

I've also got some True Lemon Crystalized products on order...the lemon, orange, and lime flavors. I found it at the lowcarbgrocerystore.com. I've included the link to the specific product page below. I know it's fruit-based and we're to avoid fruit for now, but the label details look ok to me. I'm going to ignore the 0.5g carb, especially if 1 packet of this stuff will flavor a whole knox jello powder. Then I'll sweeten with stevia. Hopefully I'll get it soon so I can try it out.

What about the packets of kool-aid with no sugar at all, then just add your sweetener?....that is what I use then just use a packet of splenda in a glass

Maybe it was just the supermarket I was at (FreshCo) but I couldn't find any kool-aid that was just totally 'unsugered'. I was looking for exactly what you described, thinking to sweeten it myself with stevia or splenda. I've never been much of a Kool-aid drinker before, so wondered if I was looking for something that didn't exist! I'll keep looking around - they probably will show up in a different supermarket chain.

I got them. They are quite good, but for the price, you'd need several packets to make jello that has any kick to it. But I like that they are natural, and you could experiment by adding some fresh lemon or lime too. The original Koolaid packets don't have anything but the artificial flavors.

I also tried the Stevita powders, cherry and orange, and they taste good as a drink, but again, you'd need too much to make a tart jello, so I saved them for a drink. I tried the liquid Stevia orange flavoring and I think that's really meant to just flavor water - not enough kick to it.

Once you are in Phase 4, you could try Knudsens Tart Cherry juice. It is very tart, no additives or sweeteners and you can dilute it quite a bit to make a drink or jello. Same with their cranberry juice.

Thanks Sewmam. Like you, I liked the fact that they're a natural product. Maybe I can use just 1/2 a Knox packet, and 2-3 packets of True...? Anyway... we'll see. I'd just have to remember to count in the carbs.

Me too, Wuv. Unless I was looking right at them and didn't see them (wouldn't be the first time). LOL. But I felt like I'd checked every product and it's label in that aisle.
