I started IP and this is my ninth day in phase one and so far I've lost about seven pounds with little exercise and following the diet completely. I have about ten more pounds to lose and I need to do it in about five weeks. Would running two miles a day make the weight come off faster? Everyone says the last ten pounds are the hardest to lose!
Everyone is different. The last 10 pounds for some is hard and for others not so hard. But everyone (I think) has slower weeks than others...so hold on! Patience is a real virtue on this journey!
If you begin exercising I would recommend doing it within a 1/2 hour of an upcoming meal. That way you can quickly replenish your body. Be patient. If you have slow weeks it will eventually catch up. You just began this journey so relax, hold on and try to busy yourself with something else (lol...wish I could take that advice)..you'll be done soon enough so just stick it out...it will come off.
Be well.
Edit: LOL I initially wrote "Try to busy yourself with SOMEONE else!!! (Not something)...LOL Freudian slip!

No, if anything it might slow down your progress. If your calories get to low it will slow down your weight loss. If you feel like you want some cardio, just do some easy cardio for no more than a 1/2 hour, and make sure to have an extra 1/2 protein before and 1/2 after exercising. That will protect your calorie count for the day by not getting too low.

I exercised through out my entire IP journey and did not have any problems with the scale. If you chose to start exercising, add an extra packet to your day to be consumed immediately following your workout. This does not count toward your (3) meals + (1) snack protocol.
As a side note, I wouldn't set a time frame that you HAVE to lose the last 10 pounds in. If you only had 17# to lose to begin with, you are not that big and might not get big drops back to back. Especially if you lost 7# the first week. Just stay with the program and you will lose the weight, but don't set yourself up for a specific time frame. Let your body lose the way it needs to. Believe me, if you stick to the program you will lose the weight.

Also, if you are interested in starting to exercise, you can do a thread search for "exercise" and you will see that I commented many times on what I did and my schedule, etc...

Keep your eye on the prize... Don't stress about your time frame... Adding stress WILL NOT help you in the goal you are trying to acheive.
Thank you so much for your input everybodyy! i will keep it in mind for suree. And no i did not cheat the other day, i came home from the shower, without taking a bite of anything that doesnt follow this diet. Everyone was so proud of me!!
Did you exercise before? I took 2 weeks off then went back to my normal workout routine of 5-6 days a week. Varied cardio (running, spin, step) mixed with weights and have lost 20 lbs in 7 weeks. My coach is an advocate of exercise and encouraged me to get back on my routine as soon as I felt up to it. If you're new, ease into it. I don't do an extra packet but if my body tells me I need it, I will do some egg whites.
