Water intake is of great importance. Make sure you drink 1/2 of your body weight in oz. Also, I was an avid gum chewer, now I dont chew gum at all. I know there are a couple of gums allowed, but I wanna get the best bang for my suffering...lol I think we are all proof here that IP works. Keep strong and keep going..

When I havent lost atleast 3lbs a week, my coach and I look thru the journal, my mistakes so far have been flavored water that had splenda or something similar in it when i use my 3 allowed splenda in my coffee in the morning. We also stopped all resticted foods to hit my first goal sooner so I only did the shakes, puddings, cereal, anything non-resticted. I usually do a cappachino or cereal IP around 8:30am, have 2 cups of veggies and a shake or pudding 4-5 hours later, dinner is 8oz protein, usually eggs or chicken cooked plain with walden farms dressings added after (less then 2 TSP) and my olive oil is usually on a little romaine with dinner or lunch. Before bed, anothetr shake or pudding. U can do it!!!!!

Give it time

Hi, I have to say that I thought this diet would be so hard and strict, but I have just started watching my carbs if I eat out of the plan. Has my weight loss slowed down while I did this? Yes, but I didn't gain. Don't make yourself miserable. I still have such a long way to go, but I feel good. So much beter than I did. Drink lots of water. My coach said this:
1. Drink lots of water
2. If you are going to cheat- eat and extra IP packet or some jerky
3. Be positive about even 1 pound
4. Be aware of everything you put in your mouth.

I found that if I am really hungry for real food, I eat a piece of salami or something like that. Make your shakes with unsweetened vanilla almond milk for better taste and always eat all of your meals. Your body needs the energy to burn fat. I know I am still the fat girl talking, but I did these things on a 2 week break and still lost 4 pounds and didn't even try. I have always been overweight and I hate it! I am ready for the pounds to go. Please keep trying and lift your chin up, put a smile on your face and we will do this together! Good Luck!

Paula, without knowing more there's no way for anyone to give you any advice. How much do you weigh and what's your goal weight? What are you eating each day? Are you getting all your water, oil and salt in?

It's really hard not to do but don't compare your losses with anyone else's - everyone is different and their body will lose weight differently. You've lost nearly 2 pounds a week - that's pretty amazing, what other diet has done that for you? How many inches have you lost?

I have never lost 5 pounds in one week.

Paula, There are a lot of things that go in to everyone's ability to lose weight. Also, stepping on a scale one time a week is a portrait at that point in time of your weight. It might be more or less tomorrow. I am not advocating daily weighing (although I do it as that is my style). I use the weight from my weigh in at the clinic as my official weight.

Some other things that can affect your weight loss is if you are on medications, TOM, your body, etc. I tend to have a "bigger week" (like 3 lbs) followed by a "smaller week" (around a pound) then it starts again.

The 3-7lbs per week that they tout is not acheivable for everyone. Men are going to lose more and quicker, just the way it is. I think it is more of an average. Yeah, you are going to see people that lost 40lbs in 8 weeks, but you don't know her situation entirely - she may not be on meds, she may be at the beginning of her journey and have more to lose.

Don't compare yourself to others (although I know it is REALLY hard) and work the plan and the weight will come off. However, it never comes off as quickly as we want it.

Keep up the good work.

Dont be discouraged. I am the same stats as you and I can tell you I am active have run marathons but nothing helps me lose weight like IP. I am carb and sugar sensitive so unless I am eating extremely carefully everything makes me gain weight. So I would tell you to stick with it. This is the only diet that works. Look at the demographics of people on here. Men, women all age groups and conditions and still one thing consistent is they all lose weight albeit at different pace. You can do it too if you set your mind to it
