Occasional Veggies Question
I'm in week 8 of IP. Last night, I was visiting with another IP'er, who I later found out was a coach, about recipes. She asked me if I had the list of serving sizes for occasional veggies. I had never heard of this list before, and was operating under the assumption that they followed the same 2cup limit as the select veggies. My coach has never mentioned it. Does anyone have this list that they would be willing to share? TIA:?:

I guess I thought it was too. I just went and read my sheet and all it said was you could pick two per week from this list so I am assuming same quantities.

Last week my coach said "2 cups" of the occasional veg.
i.e., no more than 2 cups of tomatoes and 2 cups green beans a week, if those are your chosen occasional veg. |
That's what I thought too, but she said you don't get two full cups of tomatoes. We were discussing tomatillos at the time.

ChubbyCherub - what did your coach say? Have you seen him/her since you heard from the other IP coach about tomatoes?
I guess what really matters is are you staying in ketosis and losing... |
I have emailed my coach, and am currently waiting for a response. I'm just really wanting to get my green chile cooking before it gets too late! I figured you wonderful folks were the next best thing to my coach. ;)

My suggestion would be no more than a cup of tomatoes at a time. But if you are cooking with tomatoes I would just cook it then have 2 cups of your chili. You won't be eating 2cups of tomatoes.....

I hadn't heart about there being a limit to the amount of restricted veggie and just assumed we were allowed up to 2 cups of whichever we chose. I typically only have a half to whole cup of the restricted veggies and use a lower carb veggie to make up the rest of my 2 cups.

My coach got back to me. She said we are limited to 1 cup of the occasional veggies, but she also contacted the other coach for a copy of her "list".
