Try and import it from someone it would be worth it. So far the price increase is not a standard!!! I get them at cost so I know how much they are. $9.00 shouldn't even be allowed that is more than 200% mark up. I wont say how much they cost but that is robbery. And no I am not a clinic, I am just good friends with the person who owns the clinic I go to and he is hooking up a friend. Seriously, look into having someone else get them for you, you would save money. Almost everyone in the states pays $27-28 per box of 7 and that is significant mark up. You could pay someone $35 per box and still save $4 a packet and most would jump at doing that. They could make $7 per box and you would still be saving over $30 a box. I wish you luck, the program does work... I am done, but I still use the packets for lunch in maintenance. |

Thank you to all who responded. I spent a lot of time yesterday on this site reading about specific alternatives, so I will go that route. I can actually afford the increase (I am very fortunate in that respect), but it's the principle of the thing with me. The place that I go to has over 400 people on this diet and they are affiliated with a very successful hospital, so it isn't like they are going broke. It's pure greed. And it's just wrong. I will also share these responses with them to let them know that at least one person is onto them. Thanks again.

The prices are going up at your clinics because the prices that the clinics pay for the items are being raised. Each clinic is allowed to charge whatever they want, but IP suggests a 100% markup.
I know a lot of you guys think that the price markup is way too much, but IP clinics really don't make that much money from the program when you factor in shipping, taxes, the cost of hiring a coach, and the fact that most clinics don't have a TON of people doing the program. Usually it's just barely enough to justify keeping the program going. When you pay $27 for a box, you may picture your coach and doctor rolling around in the dough, but that's not really what happens lol. |

I too am in the same province and pay 3.86/packet or 27/box plus tax which I still find too expensive so recently started ordering alternatives. |

I'm curious now, how much does it cost? My clinic does not sell the packages individually. I buy 3 boxes a week, for $84. That way I have different foods each time of the day but still gets boring. My husband, brother-in-law, and mother/father-in-law are all OP so we try swapping foods for more of a variety. I can understand the increase, everything goes up at some point. Thats why we need to stick with and be done before it breaks our wallets! |

I have suspected from the get go that your "coach" may not actually be affiliated with IP. Someone in a northern location had posted that a person in her town was buying IP products from a friend who had a clinic in another province and was selling them at very inflated prices. The person selling them had no training what so ever. I don't know why anyone who had a clinic would want to get involved with that. I paid $27 a box in Edmonton up until Christmas, they may have gone up slightly since then but no one has mentioned it. If you didn't get a new coach consider alternatives. If you match them carefully to the IP numbers they work just as well at a much lower cost. Pat |

I live 45 minutes away from billster and pay $27.00 for a box of 7 at the clinic I go to so it's not a Canadian issue. Someone is gouging and that's very bad karma. |
I live in Toronto Canada and I just bought 6 BOXES for $183.06 tax in soooo guess it just depends....
