[QUOTE=fannyfaye;4225332]Help, I feel so powerless right now. I'm on day 6 and have done awesome. I stayed home from work today and opened the freezer and saw a pint of Hagen daaz. I thought I'd gotten rid of everything but
None of us is seeking perfection..we just seek progress in keeping this weight off. You are always going to face old triggers! Just jump back on and start making progress in losing. The best thing is that the Ideal Protein plan really does work. You will lose your weight if you stay on it. It will give you tools to keep the weight off. I hope you have a better day. You can do it. |

At some point your coach will put you on Phase 2 and 3 which will add more foods to what you are currently eating. Feel free to post here even if you are not at goal. I posted here before I reached goal because I wanted advice from people who had reached their goals. |

thanks to everyone for the advice! I don't have a coach... have used alternatives from the beginning. I think I will stay on Phase 1 until I reach my goal though... haven't put much thought into it yet honestly. My first goal is to reach a healthy/normal BMI number and I am almost there. Ultimately, I want to lose 100 lbs which would put me at 135 lbs. |
Cajunladybug- Congrats on the loss so far! Do you use other products from nashua? I've been thinking about ordering more alternatives.. I'm trying to go through the "Alternative products" thread at the moment.
I have some IP packets left, but have also been using alternatives from Nashua and from Wal-Mart/SAMs Club. From Nashua, I'm using the following: Proti Diet Bacon/Cheddar omelette, Healthsmart Chocolate Chip cookies, Hot cocoa (either proti-thin or proti-diet...I can't remember), Proti-thin Vanilla peanut bars (identical to IP van. peanut bars), proti-thin chocolate caramel delight bars, proti-thin chocolate peanut bars. I use EAS Carb AdvantEdge Chocolate shakes for a replacement to RTD Chocolate, and the Vanilla as a replacement for Vanilla RTD. They're pretty good. Also there are detour bars that have similar nutritional value to the IP bars, and tastes pretty good. Quote:

Jenny....I was the same way about the reboot...couldn't suck it up for P1. The first few days were tough, but if you just take it one day at a time, you'll get through it. And it won't take nearly as long to get below 130 as it took to take your initial weight off. What about doing P1 for like 2 weeks, then going to P2 for a few weeks. You can do anything for 14 days, right? But whatever you decide, you'll look amazing! Would you mind giving me some more info about this cleanse? |
Ok so maybe my first post came across as "wanna be my friend? check yes or no" :D
You guys talk a lot about fat secret so I was hoping that those of you who were using it would let me see what your breakfasts were. RATHER then that! What do you guys think of this for a phase three brekkie: 1 cup of skim milk 6-7 oz of berries (raspberries probably) 1 tbsp of Kraft natural peanut butter 1 WW english muffin Do I need an egg? I'm not sure I have enough protein. I know a lot of you eat yogurt and there has been a lot of discussion about grains....since I'm only doing a miniphase for vacation I figured I'd take what I know (I wasn't a fan of yogurt before and will try it when I'm finally done phase 1 but I don't think it's worth my effort for only one week). Let me know what you think? |

Maile- - Wow I didn't know you had lost so much AFTER phasing off. That is really encouraging! Congrats on that!
Mom3LoveBugs- I agree with what everyone else has said. It might be harder to re-start. I'm currently doing a reboot and also trying to go 3-5 lbs below my original goal. I think that part of what makes it harder (or at least I think that's the case with me) is that you don't have the sense of urgency to get the weight off.. I mean, after all you get compliments, feel good about yourself and know that you've come a long way.. so it's easier to rationalize cheats (I've had one so far doing the reboot, totally not proud of it). Good luck whatever you decide. Cajunladybug- Thanks for the info on the alternatives you are using. Although I just bought some IP products, I think this is my very last IP purchase.. I think whatever else I need for my reboot and then for maintenance will be just alternatives. So I will definitively keep those items that you mentioned in mind. BTW don't know if you're interested or not, but lifestyle has RTDs that are supposed to be extremely similar (if not identical) to IP RTD's, but of course significantly cheaper. I just ordered a case :) Ishbel- I think especially at the beginning it is better to plug in your meals either on fatsecret or myfitnesspal so that you know you are reaching and not going over the 30/20/25 numbers. It does indeed look to me that you might need a bit more protein. Also, it is not necessary at all to have yogurt, there are other alternatives to protein. You can use cream cheese, or cheese, eggs, egg whites, vegetarian protein (they have carbs, but I usually would just count them towards my total carbs allowed for breakfast). |
Jenny, I occasionally have a phase 1 lunch because I'm too busy to cook or pack a protein when I'm away from the house. I just grab an EAS shake and some veggies and salad and go. If I do this 2 days in a row, I have a decent loss on the scale. I still have my phase 3 breakfast and don't eat carbs for dinner. So, basically phase 3 for breakfast, phase 1 the rest of the day and an Atkins bar for a restricted snack around 8:30 at night. I still make sure I get in tons of water and drink a cup of coffee if I'm hungry between meals. Could you try something like that for a few days and see if you lose? I hate going without my breakfast, but I don't mind as much if I don't have meat for lunch.

What does 30/20/25 refer to? |
30 grams of carbs for grain, 20 grams for fruit, 15 for fat. Must be 25 or over for protein. You want your calories to be between 400 and 500. You must not go over 50 grams total carbs for breakfast. So if you have yogurt, you have to shave those carbs away from either your grain or fruit totals. Clear as mud?
Also, your dairy isn't supposed to total over 120 calories. |
