Im on an acid reducer medication as well called "Tecta" ... it works really well..im also on a stomach medication that helps your stomach to empty out faster..Sometimes when you have been overweight or obese a long time, your stomach can slow down on emptying into the intestinal tract and so the food sits their longer and goes sour..ever since i started taking that medication , ive felt a lot better...its called Ratio-Donperidone...it works awesome...it doesnt make you feel hungry or anything..it just helps move stomach contents into the intestine so that its not sitting in your stomach for longer than normal periods.

i agree with others too..you could have something called BILLARY COLIC..its a condition in which your gall bladder has been strained from pumping an excess amount of bile into your stomach..its basically over-working and in turn it gets sore...An acid reducer medication and some extra strength tylenol will help that problem if thats what it is. It will get better and go away within a few weeks.

So my IP couch looked through her manual and didn't find any place indicating that this diet can cause gallbladder issues... She is having me stay on it for another week and wait until I have my ultrasound. She was more concerned that I was pregnant. I haven't lost weigh the last two weigh-ins and my inches have increased only on my belly. I told her I was bloated, but she wants me to take another pregnancy test. YIKES! I am 99% sure I'm not prego..... but I guess this is To be continued.......

I'm not sure of the medication my mom took! D; I think it was Vicodin.
Also, it wouldn't say in anything that IP would cause gallbladder issue, because it could happen on any diet or with any instance of losing weight quickly. That's why when people have the gastric bypass, their gallbladder is removed to prevent the sludge from forming. |
I agree with you Backdrop! That probably is the reason why it didn't say anything in the manual :) My coach was super nice and told me she was going to do some more research for me for next week. It just freaks me out that she was so insistent on me being pregnant.....
It also is discouraging that I haven't lost any weight in two weeks. I am doing everything to the T with the diet.... no cheating... drinking all my water... taking all my pills..... :( I am starting to wonder why I am bothering to stick it out when it is just making me feel sick and I'm not even seeing results. UGH. I keep telling myself to just deal with it for one more week. |
Well I go for my ultrasound in the morning. I had my yearly with my obgyn today and I am not pregnant....so now I just need to find out if I have gallstones or sludge. I'm nervous to go and hope it isn't anything serious.

Here's the update. It looks like my gallblladder doesn't have stones but may have sludge. The doctors explained to me that often times when you lose weight it can upset your gallbadder (like some of you mentioned above). They also mentioned that a low fat diet it can also cause issues.
I know that the protocol is to have at least 2 tablespoons of olive oil a day and I realized today that my problems all started happening when I switched from using my own oil olive dressing to WF. Maybe I wasn't getting enough oil from cooking alone? So as of now I am going to switch back to my oil dressing and hope that they pains go away. I don't want to get my gallbladder removed so hopefully this will solve my problems. |

I believe protocol is 2 teaspoons (not Tablespoons). Did the doctor suggest 2 Tablespoons? I hope it makes a difference for you. You could probably just add the oil to the WF dressing if you really enjoy the WF flavor. |

That is a great idea to mix it in with the WF dressing. Thanks. I do feel relieved too. Its a good feeling. |

http://www.buzzle.com/articles/sludg...-symptoms.html It mentioned a quick way to help alleviate the symptoms of gallbladder sludge. Its states: "to alleviate the pain you can take a lemon, squeeze out its juice and add 3 tablespoons of olive oil into it. Have it before going to bed and after waking up. You could also take one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of apple juice to get relief from the pain... Moreover, eat a high-fiber diet and drink lots of water" I drank a shot of olive oil and then a shot of lemon juice before I went to sleep and woke up the following morning in far less pain :) |
That doesn't sound too bad... I don't really have any pain, just a yucky feeling sometimes... in the past, I always "treated" tummy troubles with more food, thinking a full stomach would take away the discomfort (btw, it usually didn't).. that feeling still makes me think I want to eat more, just a bad habit I haven't been able to shake... so, thanks, SaraBean I'll try the cleanse...
