What's your favorite IP packet and any ideas to make them yummy?
Hi - I am new to this site and have been on ideal protein 5 weeks. I have stuck to the chocolate shakes, bars, chips and well thats about it. At first I tried the soups, herb omelet, puddings, etc... and I couldn't stomach the taste so I have been drinking lots and lots of rtd shakes. I am getting bored and they are not as filing as they use to be so I am posting this hoping for some help. Thanks
I also stick with chocolate shakes.. I mix it up by adding extracts. but I dont get the RTD that often, since they cost more. and I like the powdered more!! but I put a splash of peppermint, banana, strawberry, for a different taste.... Check out some of the old threads. I think that there is one that had ways to be creative with packets!
click on the ideal protein to the far left and a bunch of ideal protein threads will come up with many, many ideas and recipes. check out Finn-Steven's for lots of yummy recipes.
thanks for the input - i am debating on the plain omelet and the cappuccino drink? I have tried the herb omelet and hated it.. I'm scared to try new stuff cause we have to buy by the case and it can get a bit pricing if I'm not using what I am buying
I like the herbs omelet and add some white eggs, vanilla shakes are good too for a speedy meal, spaguetti is good, broccoli soup and I add veggies and make it runny, chocolate and soy chips for the movie instead of popcorn... I like the puddings like strawberry, vanilla, and the wildberry yogurt, and the pina colada drink.
I really can't stand the smell of leak soup, the orange drink either, and the other chips they have are too salty for me.
I've been eating chicken soup for breakfast. Mebbe you din't like it cuz it got all foamy when you shook it?
Instead, I put the powder in a bowl and with a wire whisk, whisked it constantly as I added boiling water in a steady stream. Then you can get it the exact consistency you want.
I've added mushrooms, , cauliflower, green onions, and even a little left over chicken. I think it's the best tasting packet so far, closely followed by mushroom soup.
By varying the consistency, you can make it thick like a gravy. It was delish over asparagus - and the flavor profile was different. I steamed some asparagus w/ water, then added 1/2 tsp olive oil and poured the chix soup over holandaise style. Sometimes it's all about tricking your brain, baby!

Reason: spelling
I love the blueberry/cran/pom drink! I love sour stuff and when you blend it with ice it tastes just like a blue slushee to me! ... and the orange drink tastes like Tang which I was a little obsessed with when I was a kid!
hey all. in the spirit of fall, and the fact that i was missing my pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, i made dark chocolate pudding with pumpkin pie spice in it. oh soooo good!!!

For pudding, it's also about the mouth feel for me. I started by shaking them and then eating. This morning, I tried whisking it instead and it made all the difference. Add a packet to a large bowl. Start w/ 'bout 1/2 c very cold water. Pour into the bowl as you whisk w/ a wire whip. It will look a mess and then suddenly come together all at once in a cake frosting type consistency. Next, slowly add more water until you get it where you want it.
This regular chocolate pudding now tastes and feels like a melted milky way bar to me!!
Much more heavy in the mouth and more satisfying to me. Does that make sense? It's kinda reminiscent of sneaking a big lick of frosting while your Mom wasn't looking.
